Frustrating relative lack of LGBT NPCs in this game

1. As a straight white dude, the one thing I literally do not care about is a character's sexuality. Is this an LGBTQ -insert the insane amount of random characters here- thing? You can't enjoy a story unless there's "someone like me"?
One of my favorite podcasts is Welcome to Night Vale. Starring a gay host. I can't remember if there even were straight people in that podcast. They also made Alice isn't Dead, which was also a pretty good podcast starring lesbian characters (season 3 was very meh).
I don't go into a story demanding that there be representation for me nor do I look for it. Why do you have to? Do you think that there's perhaps something wrong with being the way you are and need some sort of outside validation?

2. Representation is not a positive or negative thing. It simply is. If you can do it naturally, it is a good thing. The way most people want it is a negative thing. (See: ticking box argument)

3. There's like 1-5% of the population that isn't straight. You are not likely to run into someone else that is not straight. If you want an accurate representation of that, then of course there's not going to be many people like you.

4. It is not normal. If it was, you and I wouldn't be here to be having this discussion as the human race would've died out with the first generation.

Well glad to know that every piece of media should have 1-5% of the cast be not-straight then!
