I have a feeling at least some number of people seeing 6.1 as hollow played at least a few expansions consecutively, much time after the post-patches were out. When I think about it, I can't remember any x.1 patch story being memorable. The best crescendos were always in x.3, last hurrah for an expansion until the story moved on to setup the next one.
