VIERA AND HROTHGAR COMPLAINT MEGATHREAD

Its the inconsistency that bothers me. Just randomly Hroths and Viera can wear full plate helmets and hoods. With ears sticking out for Viera. Just do that for all of them if you want, nobody cares about clipping for the most part. If the choices are "90% of headgears cant be used, or the headgears have clipping" then generally speaking people would rather accept the latter.

They are doing a good job with hair now with Viera. They need to move on to addressing the issue of hats and making more of an effort to provide at least some of the older ones new models so the ears can show etc. Relative to new gear it's still disappointing that some items work but most don't.

I know I generally check hats in dungeons like the new 24 man raid to see if the head gear works before rolling on it. Sadly I haven't found any that does yet.

I'm going to keep doing what I've been doing, continuing to ask that we get what we deserve in this game, regardless if I think they will actually ever do it or not. It seems they will relent, like with hrothgar. If we came together and asked for custom viera styles, we could get them. Maybe even more custom headgear. It isn't impossible. Hrothgar players rejected their new hairstyles, and Yoshida, even if he says it will take time, is willing to do custom hairs due to the backlash. I can be pretty negative at times, like earlier, but I actually just want the best for the game and the race.

We're in this together. I will also continue here tormenting SE, as I did with the male viera and the female hrothgar. At this point, my signature is nothing more than a place of protest.

I keep pining to be Viera again, but them and hrothgar just need to go back into the oven and rebake, a whole patch dedicated to just fixing the issues derived from the race coming out premature, it's especially concerning with the wanted update to the graphics of races and such they are looking at long term.

Still sad both genders couldn't get those feet and the inhuman short waist and long limbed proportions... the feet I can see being troublesome, but it's odd since Elezen/Elvaan are known for their long limbs and long necks and they got those carried over just fine.

This is mighty sweet, thank you all for your continued support and I'm really glad everyone's on the same page, it's always reassuring coming across those who have the same opinion as me on the matter Hopefully one day this can be acknowledged by the developers sooner or later, and both Viera and Hrothgar will be the standard we desire. I'll always hold out hope that maybe one day, we can get an item that gives us an Ivalician Viera appearance... Constantly wearing my claws of the beast and default Viera sandles are okay, but it's still not good enough for me to be honest - it's not convinced me that my character is from Eruyt village.

I want to be a Viera so, so much. But, they just don't look how I had hoped- they look incomplete to me- I wish they had the same ears as they did in XII, As well as the spots at the tips.
I want them to have more unique outfits (like the ones you see Mjrn wear & other viera in XII) Many have different outfits & armors in that game. I want to see more shoes/ boots that give them their odd feet back.
The fluffy/ wild hair they have in XII & tactics art- where is that in XIV? I want to be able to choose the ear diadem/ headgear you see Mjrn wear & Fran wear on all hairstyles.

It won't happen but one can wish.

I was quite surprised at the ears too! I was hoping for an option with no extra fluff but spots on the top...
But yes, yes and much yes! That all sounds so ideal. I often look at the Viera's previous appearances photos in the FF series, and they always have such defining outfits and characteristics that make them stand out so much, instead of being a 'human but with rabbit ears'... Their appearance in XIV are okay, but it doesn't have the same feel.

It's the only way we will see change. That hopefully, some day, they will see our feedback, and listen. If we stop, and accept what we get, nothing will ever change, and may even get worse. Viera/hrothgar deserve better.

Because of this I make my protest in my signature. So even when I'm responding to another thread, I'm silently still making the problem visible.

It's very tragic, I'm devastated as well. I did write this on another thread, but I got to around rank 11 and then I realized we can't wear the helmet so it pretty much de-motivated me.
I know it's hardly any consolation, but I think your Viera still looks nice without the helmet - mine looks weird without the headpiece. If I come across headgear that matches the armour, I'll let you know

I understand people who prefer old hair, because we have a very wide range of old players that released a lot of stuff, and now they can't use their hair anymore. I personally am neutral on this. I'd love to wear Noctis' hair on my miqo'te, but personally, I think more "wild" viera hair models fit better. So, new or old, for me, it doesn't matter.

I believe people say "no" to unique hair because everyone would want it. SE must have thought of it, so they dropped the idea.

As for ear pockets, I'm also neutral. There are helmets, like those for cold or armor, which make sense for the ears to be in pockets, but the others are better with holes and the ear visible.

It would be really cool to have race-only helmets that better accommodate long and animalistic ears, or horns. But I really don't believe SE will do anything. It would be very easy to deal, for example, with races that have a tail and gear that have a cape. It would just cut the cape in half, leaving a gap in the middle, for these races. A simple change that would make the tails not clip, and not have to change the design of the set abruptly, but even that they don't think about.

Thank you you’re sweet. It sucks because i had a whole glam already plated and ready for the helmet, was going to use either the crypt robes or the ancient robes. Guess that idea is down the toilet now

I've been at it for three years on here, a broken record really. It's actually crazy to think back how long it has been now. I need to switch back to viera, but I feel dirty about needing to give them another $10 to play my true race.

I still have a spark of hope that viera can get better. Sooner than later. I'm probably being naive.

I thank you for creating this topic. I will continue with the support here as I believe that what we are asking for is nothing outside the curve, it is just what is fair.

As for the viera, I agree with you. I would love to have at least the rabbit's feet that the vieras had in the other games. For now, all I can do is look at images from the community (who made this happen) and dream.

The fantasia itching is here again for me too :/ I’m going crazy lol (150ish € on fantasia since Viera release…), changing my mind every two weeks.

I love Viera, this race fits me very much, but there’s always a point when I start to miss my hats or I’m getting frustrated by clipping issues on some hairstyles with some circlets, etc.
My husband always encouraged me to keep her despite of limitations, because he sees I really do love her.

This is why this thread has all my support as well ! I want to be a bunny and stand one !
