VIERA AND HROTHGAR COMPLAINT MEGATHREAD

Now hear me out, they could design more outfits/ armors/ helmets/ headgear around Viera & Hrothgar instead of trying to force them into gear that wasn't really intended for them

Sorry, but after so long waiting for something, I really don't believe they will do something like that anymore. They never promised helmets for both races, true, but promised exclusive hair to make up for it. 3 years and nothing.
At this point, I just want to wear my redmage or bard hat; having my Noctis hair again; buy something at mogstation, without having to be afraid that it won't work for my race; make an event and not frustrate me because the reward is a hair or a hat that doesn't fit me...
Since they changed the idea of giving unique hair, and started making old hair, they might as well start to at least remove the restrictions on the new helmets.

No, they wouldn't do it. They don't even do ear holes for their most popular race miqo'te, and barely ever put even a bowtie to cover up tail clipping. They won't do custom headpieces for a limited race they don't seem to actually care much about. It'd be nice, and I've even said they should do it, but I don't kid myself into thinking that they would ever do it.

I'm not against what you're saying - I don't think you're wrong BUT to add to this; since ShB, I've seen abuncha posts about people wanting unique headpieces but there were way more posts (and threads) about adding existing hats & saying "no" to folks wanting future headgear/ hairs designed more around Viera/ Hrothgar. Because people I assume, thought that if they all asked for unique hairs, they then wouldn't get hats/ mog station hairs. That should not be the case ever. It should be both that are added. That's on the devs for failing this & tricking players into thinking they had to choose.

It was alot of wishy- washy between folks though & (no, I'm not defending the devs) nor blaming the entire playerbase bc the devs can absolutely design future headgear for these races- they just stopped. (look at miqo'te hats, some have holes for their ears)
I want hats to be added for Viera & Hroth. I'd LOVE for my Miqo to have more hats that let her ears poke through (without clipping) I personally think it's ugly when hats/ hoods have the weird ear coverings.

But having future headgear designed for Viera/ Hroth is a good thing to want & something we should keep requesting- bc also, Au Ra can finally have more headgear without having the weird horn clipping if it becomes true.
AND we should also want current headgear/ hairs added for Viera/ Hroth.

I'm probably too hopeful but I also thought they'd never add Lyse's hair because people argued with me on that too (no, I don't think you're arguing with me)
But legit, people would say "no, you have enough hairs! you don't need NPC hairs" Like- uh yeah. I do. I do need them. They're unique & look better than what we have. They're pretty/ good looking hairs & I'm here requesting it everywhere I can.

This is beyond ridiculous. They cant make previous headgear work with viera? Fine. Sure, whatever. But to not even make a new helmet locked behind a grind fucking wearable by them is beyond ridiculous. People have the audacity to say Yoshi P and the devs care? Yeah no. If they cared, they would have made this wearable, or not release it until it was wearable by everyone. If they can make the cryptlurker helmet wearable i fail to see why this one cant be as well.

I'm going to keep doing what I've been doing, continuing to ask that we get what we deserve in this game, regardless if I think they will actually ever do it or not. It seems they will relent, like with hrothgar. If we came together and asked for custom viera styles, we could get them. Maybe even more custom headgear. It isn't impossible. Hrothgar players rejected their new hairstyles, and Yoshida, even if he says it will take time, is willing to do custom hairs due to the backlash. I can be pretty negative at times, like earlier, but I actually just want the best for the game and the race.

We're in this together. I will also continue here tormenting SE, as I did with the male viera and the female hrothgar. At this point, my signature is nothing more than a place of protest.

I keep pining to be Viera again, but them and hrothgar just need to go back into the oven and rebake, a whole patch dedicated to just fixing the issues derived from the race coming out premature, it's especially concerning with the wanted update to the graphics of races and such they are looking at long term.

Still sad both genders couldn't get those feet and the inhuman short waist and long limbed proportions... the feet I can see being troublesome, but it's odd since Elezen/Elvaan are known for their long limbs and long necks and they got those carried over just fine.

This is mighty sweet, thank you all for your continued support and I'm really glad everyone's on the same page, it's always reassuring coming across those who have the same opinion as me on the matter Hopefully one day this can be acknowledged by the developers sooner or later, and both Viera and Hrothgar will be the standard we desire. I'll always hold out hope that maybe one day, we can get an item that gives us an Ivalician Viera appearance... Constantly wearing my claws of the beast and default Viera sandles are okay, but it's still not good enough for me to be honest - it's not convinced me that my character is from Eruyt village.

I want to be a Viera so, so much. But, they just don't look how I had hoped- they look incomplete to me- I wish they had the same ears as they did in XII, As well as the spots at the tips.
I want them to have more unique outfits (like the ones you see Mjrn wear & other viera in XII) Many have different outfits & armors in that game. I want to see more shoes/ boots that give them their odd feet back.
The fluffy/ wild hair they have in XII & tactics art- where is that in XIV? I want to be able to choose the ear diadem/ headgear you see Mjrn wear & Fran wear on all hairstyles.

It won't happen but one can wish.

I was quite surprised at the ears too! I was hoping for an option with no extra fluff but spots on the top...
But yes, yes and much yes! That all sounds so ideal. I often look at the Viera's previous appearances photos in the FF series, and they always have such defining outfits and characteristics that make them stand out so much, instead of being a 'human but with rabbit ears'... Their appearance in XIV are okay, but it doesn't have the same feel.

I've been at it for three years on here, a broken record really. It's actually crazy to think back how long it has been now. I need to switch back to viera, but I feel dirty about needing to give them another $10 to play my true race.

I still have a spark of hope that viera can get better. Sooner than later. I'm probably being naive.

The fantasia itching is here again for me too :/ I’m going crazy lol (150ish € on fantasia since Viera release…), changing my mind every two weeks.

I love Viera, this race fits me very much, but there’s always a point when I start to miss my hats or I’m getting frustrated by clipping issues on some hairstyles with some circlets, etc.
My husband always encouraged me to keep her despite of limitations, because he sees I really do love her.

This is why this thread has all my support as well ! I want to be a bunny and stand one !

I recommend you put something related in the forum signature. When we asked for the male viara, and the female hrothgar, there were a lot of people with the signature asking for it.

I feel that, on the fantasia cost. i think I've spent probably a minimum of.. triple (probably more actually) that since viera release, but that's kind of a me problem too. I just like to use fantasias. A lot of my fantasias were going from rava to veena, plus I buy fantasias for my alt I don't play as well.

Yep, viera are great. I pretty much like everything about them - both rava and veena - except for their limitations. Circlets float on regular races too, but it's not as bad. One big problem for me is that I also like my au ra, a lot. Funnily enough, I actually use less hairstyles as au ra, than I do as viera. Still, I'm at a point where I want to stop giving SE so much money. I don't believe SE deserves much more of my money on this, as it only encourages them to keep the limitations as is. As they are making more than enough money off people like us who switch back and forth. I'd really rather stop using fantasias as a viera permanently, with a host of quality hairstyles - maybe even some pretty custom ones too.

Exactly right! As do I. I want to be a bunny, and I want the race to get the attention it deserves. Hrothgar too.

I thank you for creating this topic. I will continue with the support here as I believe that what we are asking for is nothing outside the curve, it is just what is fair.

As for the viera, I agree with you. I would love to have at least the rabbit's feet that the vieras had in the other games. For now, all I can do is look at images from the community (who made this happen) and dream.
