That’s a poorly implemented anti-cheat. Valorant has the best anti-cheat and it’ll disconnect you the moment you even attempt to mess around with it, it’s super sensitive as it should be for an online game. You can, I play Elden ring with mods online :P
Exactly with a mod that allows me to play with ps5 controller layout because I use a ps5 controller. You only need to add something in the code of an archive (I will not give all the details, because I do not want more real cheaters destroying people savefiles)
XD there is not any anti-cheater that works wonders against cheaters, trust me. As I said, only will harm people that mostly play fair

Yeah, and valorants requires (or did) kernal access, which from a system security standpoint, is awful.
It had a ton of backlash from that too.
Yet it’s still one of the most popular games out there and other companies are following suite. Security paradigms are changing and the integrity of an online gaming environment now requires good anti-cheat as a foundation.

*googles valorant hacks*
*Search results showing tons of aimbots, ESP, wallhacks, etc that work as recent as 1 day ago, including 6 different youtube vids ranging from 3 days ago to 12 hours ago*
Yeah, even the most aggressive, intrusive form of anti-cheats failed. You really think Square wants to waste money fighting in the anti-cheat arms race?
Square's doing the intelligent decision and just not caring. Every time you make better anti-cheat software, the botters will make a better bot. It's a never-ending arms race that's purely a monetary loss to fight, especially when the companies will never win it against hackers with as much free time as they want to analyze and find every vulnerability in your software.
Besides, most anti-cheat & DRM programs aren't meant to worry about cheaters in the long run - they're included by companies at release to delay pirates as long as possible to save those early week sales. People by far and large are impatient creatures, and a crack delayed long enough will see them purchase it legit most times.
hence why Square gives their PR 'we can't do it because its illegal in Japan.' it's likely bogus, but 99% of people won't bother to check and just take it at face value. It sounds much more player friendly to say 'we appreciate the players not to install spyware on their computer' than saying 'its because we don't want to burn tons of money and dev time building/using anti cheat programs that are gonna be busted in literally 48 hours'.
