Except that’s not true. From Software, a Japanese studio, ships Elden Ring with an anti cheat in all regions including Japan. SE can and should be doing anti-cheat.
I doubt. EAC reported non-exist issues almost every time I play Elden Ring or Apex or Back4Blood, etc. It also caused false bans. EAC is not useful.
Giving xiv a convenient report method is more important. But I still doubt SE staff's efficiency. At least, it's a basic function every PVP game on the market already has.
Imagine thinking EAC works well.
The unfortunate truth is that SE has never cared about cheaters in PvP and is not likely to start anytime soon.
EAC is also bad.
It seems like the only time they actually care about cheaters is if their presence is literally making part of the game unplayable, as was the case with the hacking bots in Rival Wings.
EAC barely functions and would serve only to cause issues for more benign modifications, which while they're against ToS, a large enough portion of the userbase uses that it would cause some serious issues for the team, as many of them would possibly leave overnight.
cheaters would find a way around it anyways and continue cheating unabated
Considering how (not)well EAC is working for Elden Ring on PC... I'm gonna say no.
no thank youadd epic games spyware
Remember, locks only keep out honest people. The only people affected by anti-cheat software are the legitimate users of the software, the cheaters will just build a better cheat.

Reading too much of the forums makes me very sad and apathetic.
Easy Anti-Cheat is an invasive software on its own. Hence why it frequently runs into issues with other security software because it, itself does things viewed as potentially malicious.
