[Feedback] Add Epic Easy Anti-Cheat to FFXIV before is too late

There are at least 2 pvp addons that tracks cds and player profiles, if you are on Twitch, you can see clips of high elo Crystal players encountering a certain top 10 player using speed hacks now too. It shouldn't be hard to find.

Also there is a certain addon website that makes the better version of 1-2-3 combo addon do a pvp version that will ping you if samurai uses their ability and highlights players that ninjas can 100% execute, and a few other addons in development that shows the aoe radius of certain players.

Its still not too late to add Epic Easy Anti-Cheat to FFXIV, most recent games already use it like Lost Ark and Elden Ring and it gets the job done.

This really needs more visibility so I'm posting this here, as I made a comment in another thread along these lines.

A friend showed me a screen caps of cheater's discord, cos they wanted to know what their capabilities were and what to look for.

Here's some from those screencaps:

It also includes auto LB when enemy is low enough.
Auto partner for dancer.
Auto jumps/gap closers.
Auto target switching between low HP enemies, including not switching to chitan/guard/living dead targets.
Auto guard.
15 metre circle around you for powerful shot range.
Auto LBing when bursting a target.
Multi-target Chitan detection for auto LB.

These capabilities were as of the 17th, and seemed like were being constantly updated.

As fun as this mode is, the fact people cheat to this extent in it is ridiculous.

This sounds like suicide and for various reasons.
For example, there's many Linux users playing the game (me included), having an anti-cheat would immediately bork the game and make it unplayable. This would create more issues than necessary, and wouldn't solve the issues that are at hand. Anti-cheats tend to scan your computer and some act as intrusive spyware. Yoshi-P said he doesn't want that to happen, and for a good reason.

If they put that anti-cheat I unsub, seriously.
And not because I love people cheating, but it never stops people from cheating. You said Elden ring as an example, the game where they can invade you and lock your savefile moving your character to some coordinates that make you fall and die over and over.
EAC doesn't stop cheaters, it just makes fair players have issues to play.
The best that works against cheaters is to report them, nothing more.

I'm pretty sure it would also raise legal issues within countries that have more strict privacy laws something Square obviously does not want to deal with.

Cheating is always an arms race regardless of what a developer chooses to do but right now Square Enix haven't given themselves a fighting chance in actually dealing with this. PvP is the main area that makes cheating very easy to spot and it'll be the first game mode to die because of it.

Every argument against anti-cheat is the same canned response we always see when the topic comes up and it's either because the person is using something that would then trigger the anti-cheat or they're on five Linux. I do appreciate some of these concerns but ultimately there's so many other games doing it and other pieces of software on your computer doing it that FFXIV joining the party isn't a bad thing.

Besides, Square Enix should at the very least take ownership of the game's moderation once and for all. If they want to try and establish an acceptable plugin usage area, they at least need a proper mechanism to determine what exactly people are running alongside the default game client. It's a borderline impossible line to walk but they should actually be trying at the very least.

No thank you, anticheats are so hard to get out of your system after you’ve deleted a game, and they’re so buggy that they sometimes flag legitimate software or mods for other games as cheats.
