I don't think they're too strict, really. If people are feeling like their communication is being inhibited then I'm more inclined to chalk that up to the person being toxic, as much as they would like to deny the reality of their attitude. You aren't going to get banned for socializing, and nor are you going to get banned for giving advice. However, you will if you elect to be vitriolic about it.

Idk tbh I've done a lot worse than simply giving advice, I've gone and acted like a whole jabroni with the full cussing, emote spam, big aoe spam in town, ect from time to time and I haven't been sent to babyjail... yet. A lot of people threaten to report and seldom go through with it, unless you're being REALLY bad you're probably fine imo. That being said I have heard stories about people being reported over swear words/name calling and that sucks lol.

Just watch yourself and your tone tbh, if a person asks you to stop don't interact with them anymore, no you really aren't going to be banned for giving advice and the only way you really will is by being toxic/harass-y over it.

It probably also has a bit to do with what the person writes in the report. If they act extra offended in the write-up, it's probably taken into account.

Maybe, I imagine as a GM though you're probably immune to outrage reports though tbh :P I moreso think it likely takes into account if you've been reported for similar things in the past, if you were truly being an a-hole, extreme vulgarity, ect.. but who knows, that's just my speculation

And I have evidence of being a "cunt"(<hey, they used it, not me) who repeatedly points out how people are lazy, in multiple different dungeon runs with different players, and not getting banned. So....yeah.

Often I see posts on reddit and in the forums about discussions in chat dungeons when someone recommend stuff or point mistakes and these are taken as toxic behavior regardless if it was an advice or a demand.

What if they don't want advice? What if they are just having a bad day or made a mistake? What if they aren't looking to be optimal and just want to have fun because it's a game? If they want advice, they can ask for it.

The amount of talking in dungeons hasn't changed. It's always been like this because you are all too busy killing things and there isn't anything worthwhile to say to complete strangers that you will probably never talk to again, unless you have a question or want to make jokes.

Especially expert dungeons, my automatism is already at that stage that i just sprint whenever its available although i hate doing it.
I also don't wear the mentor crown in public, if people come to me regardless i try to help as best as i can.
If people fail a mechanic nonstop, i'll try to give them a polite advice on how to do this.

I've been going down that road asking beforehand if they want advice 9/10 people ignored it although being able to understand what i was saying. The other person either said no which is fine by me or was actually asking for advice after my question.
Also latest story which makes me think: I got told off for using a rez macro in the latest raid so me and my co-heal don't overlap our rezzes because of wasted mana. Said my plan to the co-heal, she: "No please don't ". I just said k and went on without using it. Got sniped for the majority of my rezzes after.

Happens i guess. As mentioned earlier. Shoulders shrugging and move on.

Personally, I've seen many people complain about bans, posting on Reddit and several other places, complaining (and this is not unique to this community or game), to only then post logs and for it to be something unequivocally against the ToS. Equally, I've seen many posts on this forum with people complaining about how stringent their terms are, to proclaim they do not wish to have a license to insult. But then in a great touch of irony have their post riddled with condescending and vitriolic nonsense.

So I'm not so inclined to take the bait of "I'm innocent" - What most people fail to realize is that it is as much about how you say it.

Edit: I just find it a bit weird that I'm generally a very socially active player in the game, that has been playing since 2.5, albeit on a different character and not once have I been issued a ban, sanction, or warning for that matter.
