Wait what? This is something that actually happened? I haven't finished the Role Quests but this isn't a joke? Cause it sounds like a joke...Unlikely, at least for me. Unlikely. They’ve shown this patch they’re will to just handwave most stories that don’t involve the writers’ beloved scions. Garlemald’s entire story? Destroyed off screen and the garleans are just taken to the moon. Corvos? Second legion is gone there, died to the final days. Nerva who was built up for most of ShB? Killed off and turned into a blasphemy. 10/10 writing. At least we’ve seen the writing of the new “junior writers”, and have seen it isn’t an improvement from EW.

Just remarking for the 10/10 sig picture.
They really went out of their way to ensure that all of the fruits of his loins were crushed and destroyed. I just had to laugh at the screenshot I saw of 'Nerva'. Though, honestly, I think the Garleans all just moving to the Moon full-time and becoming the Lunarians: Magitek Edition away from the savages is probably the closest they can get to a happy ending. And away from the marauding claws of the all-consuming Alliance.

As they look down on Eth- ...erm, Hydaelyn - after all, she kept it turning! - and it looks like the hellscape Final Days 1.0 from the Amaurot dungeon as the Allied States of Alphinaud spread uncontrollably all over the star like a devouring plague. No one will escape the cacophony of Alphirants and the promised Brighter Tomorrow unscathed.Just remarking for the 10/10 sig picture.

When the game's story becomes self-aware:

It's incredibly aggravating. What really gets me is that Quintus (someone who was in the story for a handful of cutscenes) gets his own unique character model, voice, and a spot in the trailer yet Nerva doesn't have a character model. We only see his blasphemy form. What was the point of bringing him up at all if they were just going to kill him in side content? The story would have been just fine if he had never been mentioned. Talk about a shaggy dog.

They did similar with Regula, where even though he featured for a non-trial Weapon fight, they refused to show his form beneath the armour. It's incredibly aggravating. I actually asked about Regula's appearance during a number of Live Letter Q&A sessions and the question was picked out three different times. So they weren't unaware that people wanted to see what he looked like, or that Garlemald had its own share of fans.
