I think their point is that Protect IS engaging in PvP as a short CD, damage reduction buff. It could easily exist in PvE in that exact same form instead of the one and done it was originally designed as.Because you pressed it once during a fight and it lasted for 30 minutes. There was no thought or strategy to it, and it was thoroughly uninteresting. It was also a very miniscule defense buff that only mattered in Ultimate because incoming damage was so low everywhere else. Protect was the epitome of unengaging, and I don’t miss it..I don’t even know why they got rid of Protect. It’s still there in the pvp mode.
Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]

Then I apologize for misinterpreting. That wasn’t how I understood their comment since there wasn’t really any elaboration about it being more engaging in PvP. I don’t participate in PvP and haven’t since HW, so I’m not familiar enough with the way healers function in there, other than they’re move fun to play than in PvE.

Let me put it this way, I have all healers levelled, and the most interesting and rewarding healer for me to play, the one where I can really make an impact (unless I am really dumb), and actually have fun - is a WHM in PVP. Let that sink in.Then I apologize for misinterpreting. That wasn’t how I understood their comment since there wasn’t really any elaboration about it being more engaging in PvP.
