VIERA AND HROTHGAR COMPLAINT MEGATHREAD

It's not only that there are fewer players, the problem is that they are keeping it that way. I know and heard of a lot of people who would love to play Hrothgar but don't cause of their limitations. And with this bad choice of hairstyles, they are pushing people away. If any Hrothgar would buy a Fantasia in 6.1 it would be used to change to a less restricted race. This just makes me sad, but I don't blame anyone who will do that.

im honestly contemplating this if we actually are being forced to fantasia for hairstyles still. im sick of being ignored and then they spit in our face and tell us "don't say i never gave you anything." and leave.

I'd rather play viera than au ra. The limitations are horrible, they just get thrown a bone every once in awhile. Hrothgar on the other hand..

I don't really see that. Au Ra and Miqo'te look like young adults to me. I just like viera more for a bunch of reasons. I can just imagine how great some of their unique hairs could be if SE actually put the time and resources into making it a reality!

I understand that COVID had an affect on the SE team's ability to implement their plans for XIV after 6.0 launch. I think we waiting 6 months for 6.4? We get it. It was awful.

HOWEVER

We are so far beyond to the point where the team is finally responding to what was promised and this addition of Hrothgar hair in 6.1 is embarrassing. I cannot believe the same team that have given us an amazing game looked at these earless emo hairstyles and said "Yeah. That's good enough."

After my Hroth FC-mates have needed to buy Fantasia's to change hair for the past 3 years. After they have been unable to wear most pieces of headgear. After having severely limited customization options. This is the best that can be done in the most profitable FF title ever? I don't accept that and I think we as a community expect better.

I love this game. I love this game so much and so many people near and dear to me love this game. I understand that Hrothgars are only played by 2% of the playerbase, but so much of those who do play Hrothgar are LBGT, and consider that Hrothgar's limitations probably turn people away from the race. It certainly did for me.

And I know Viera's don't feel much better.

So please, Yoshi-P and the dev team, please make this more urgent and more important. If the modding community can fix this issue, I know a AAA company with significant resources can. Just please make Viera and Hrothgar full races instead of a playable Beta.

I love my character, I've built a story around him. But the thing is...this feels like a lot of low blows. Not only have I had to pay to give him minor changes that other characters can go to the hairstylist for, Ive waited..and waited for promised changes and now this. Im being told by my FC to wait and see, that the writing is 'vague at best' and the options are all going to be changeable at the hairstylist. I dont believe a word they are saying. Cutting the ears out of the new styles was laughable and sad. They clearly dont care about the hrothgar. It would be better at this point to just delete the race. You dont like them, admit it. You spent so much time fine tuning the veira and making them look nice and fancy and we get what, little tid bits and should be happy with it? Hell no. Im tempted to either fantasia to something else(though this would ruin years of story behind my character and truthfully I just..ugh) or just..stop. It hurts to play a game when no one wants you to play.

As of right now we have "Both Ways" from ShB (which is unisex), this old base shared hair for females in your picture and a different male only shared hair for Viera males. Given that the Male Viera hair isn't the "Male Counterpart" to the hair in this picture, it's possible that there's more hair. Who knows, they never stated how many hairs Viera were getting. My personal guess is that there's at least 1 more for Males (the Male counterpart to this) and 1 more for Females.

Yes, I was waiting for them to show this and the male counterpart. In addition to preferring long hair for vieras, I was also curious as to which hair will be chosen to be the male counterpart. Although the way things are going, I wouldn't be surprised if they just released this one for female, and forgot about the male viera.

It would help if Yoshi-P was just more communicative & transparent with the playerbase on this.
Like tell us please Yoshi-P if you need more time on the hairs & why, we understand.
Add that stuff in patch notes- "still working on hairs, etc." or something.
Like, yoshi-P; Don't tell us they'll have a robust & unique customization then deliver nothing to Viera or Hrothgar after 3 years- these added hairstyles (because they're NOT new) aren't even worth considering as something.

I feel like the fantasia issue won't be fixed for awhile bc it's intentional.

I loved when she said that mods did what they say is impossible. I saw the community model helmet by helmet, stretching, putting holes for the ears, moving details, and recreating them, so the two limited races would have something to put on their heads. Here are some examples:



Now with big streamers like Zepla talking about it in front of them, it gives us even more chances for them to be ashamed of themselves, and do both races right.
