    It was removed most likely due to Trust AI and the need to make decisions where to jump etc. Probably pretty hard to program otherwise.

    Yep, that's my assumption as to why a lot of these changes were made. It was less to make the fights/dungeons easier and more to make them actually doable with the Trust AI. Even the second boss in Vigil seems like it would be a mess to properly program the Trust AI to handle. That they may be easier is just a side effect (though the platforms staying but Cauterize in Sohr Kai doing more damage does indicate to me that they did at least consider what impact the changes would have on difficulty).
