Future direction of FFXIV

The game has been tweaked to be a nice experience as just another game.

Thats basically what a lot of the complaints are.. The game has lost it's identity. its lost the things that set it apart from the rest. its lost it's depth and engaging gameplay..
it's become "just another game" as you put it. everything that made it what it was has been dumbed down to hell..

I feel yoship should really establish if he wants to develop an mmo for the mmo players or just another final fantasy game.

This is true though. as i said earlier. in trying to catar to everyone they ultimately cater to no-one. the game is an MMO it needs to be a n MMO not some single player junk.

it's a final fantasy. it needs to be a final fantasy not some generic wow copy junk...

this direction they're going is almost as dumb as itd be for activision or something to target there next call fo duty game at elder scrolls players and fans... building an mmo and then targetting single player gamers instead of mmo gamers is just backwards.

Blizzard's thought process was likely, "If it's easier, more people will play," but looking at the subscription numbers, it seems to have had the opposite effect. Furthermore, Blizzard had to actually go out of its way to revive the old game's expansions, as "WoW Classic," to stop players from building their own pirate servers based on older builds, back to a time when the game actually had more depth.
