This will upset the Hardcore Minority Falling Off Platforms Won’t Mean Death in FFXIV

People who fall won’t have to worry about dying without a chance of revival in some FFXIV fights soon. In certain instances in-game, someone could fall off of a platform. When this would happen, healers in the party wouldn’t be able to revive them. The preliminary FFXIV 6.1 patch notes confirmed this won’t be an issue going forward.

In total, seven dungeons and trials will be affected by this change. This includes multiple difficulty options for some. Here’s the full list of FFXIV fights and situations in which falling won’t mean dying and being incapacitated after 6.1.

I know this is going to be a tough week for our BDSM friends over on the hardcore minority side who look for their pain in the game and call it 'accomplishment'

So far Healers are going to be able to Heal more and they made classes even easier to use removing the cone and making it a circle. This should be helpful for the majority of consumers.

There is already a thread about this. Nobody really cares. These are old dungeons and they are basically just making them the same as anything more current. Big whoop.

Also, you'll still die if you fall off. You can just be resurrected.

The Hardcore Minority don't play easy mode or use cheats but they complain because an easy mode is in a game they are playing and feel players shouldnt play that mode so they can get an, 'accomplishment'

Why does an otherwise fairly reasonable discussion need to be diminished to hardcore minority vs casual minority? What merit is there in working in extremes and perpetuating the hardcore and casual stereotypes?

Just give us a single button to spam and call it a day SE. I know no one likes losing in a video game so I guess we should remove the ability to lose. I hate the fact I don't have enough solid time in a week to do EX/savage and the only option given to me is becoming more and more simplified. I was hoping trusts would allow people like me who don't have a lot of time to play to enjoy some group content during my off time but once again I get monkey paw'd.

A mechanic that results in a person being unable to continue to provide any input into a duty is flawed from the outset.
