What's the point with that quite lackluster story in Endwalker?

Answers used to be one of my favorites, loved that original ARR trailer! However, the associations it has after EW have completely ruined it for me. I'm not your Dear Child and you're not my mother, you maniac.

Venat insisting on being everybody's mother just reminds me of Marguerite from Resident Evil 7.

Though unlike Venat, Marguerite was simply an innocent victim in the grand scheme of things.
