That SE would suspend housing because of current events is a bit ... strange.
Whereas it may be out of support on SE's side, it also has a unintentional subversion, and an unintentional way of equating a major event to that of ... pixels in a game.

Were I in the position of being under duress - pixels in a game are not my priority and SE suspending housing does nothing to help my duress. My life is priority and a game in this moment means nothing to that. If SE really wanted to help - there are many other things they could do, housing being the least of any show of empathy.

While I think you are correct in terms of the overall and general priority, I imagine SE's calculation is that they are aware of how painfully difficult and awful it is to get a house in XIV, and once you do get that house, people often do put a lot of time into that. And yes, in the moment, you rightfully should be focused primarily on surviving, but everyone hopes to have a life and things to return to after going through all this struggle. Coming back and finding your house was yeeted away to someone else would be quite the bummer--possibly even quit worthy.

That being said, I think SE could definitely be more targeted with their demolition suspensions. If they really wanted to, they could probably figure out which of their players are in Ukraine and are being impacted by this, and pause the demolition timer for specific regions of players only.
