It's not a moon a planet or a meteor according to a quest I did it is actually a machine of some sort.

No, they just HAVE some kind of machine with which they are able to communicate with Dalamud (which is..well..something like a mini moon) and convince it to crash into Eorzea.
The object known as Dalamud was built by the same ancient people that the Garilans salvaged there technology from. A object of that size slamming into a planet would not be the catalyst for the changes were going to see in 2.0 it would be the trigger for a mass extinction.

Not too sure about that.
Dalamud originally was just a tiny dot right next to the moon, so actually it's not that big.
Considering Hydaelyn has an atmosphere pretty similar to the one our RL earth has, that thing would probably get reduced to way less mass on it's way through the outer layers of the atmosphere and also would probably split up, leading to many meteors of different sizes raining down on Eorzea.
Looking at all the holes and stuff seen in some 2.0 pictures, I don't think the moon raining down on us would have to lead to mass extinction
Oh, and just because it was build by people does not make it less of a mini moon.
My house is not a machine either just because it was built by man.
Size in the sky means nothing, stars are just dots in the sky and they can be over 500x bigger than our sun, perhaps Dalamud was just really far away (and moving really fast)Not too sure about that.

Also there must be some threat because the Garleans are using it as a weapon (oh hai lets scatter little bits of meteorite around Eorzea for our invasion)
SE has said that Dalamud will change everything, not scatter little bits of metorite around.
Dalamud has been close to Hydaelyn's moon Menphina for hundreds of years so the distance didn't change until recently (1.21) when Dalamud left it's normal course. Menphina though can't be too far away from Hydaelyn, otherwise it wouldn't be affected by the gravity of Hydaelyn and wouldn't be orbiting the planet.
(And really, just how big would Menphina have to be so we could still see her so big in the sky if she was really far away?)
I don't know about you, but from what I know those "little bits of meteorite" are extremely dangerous, leading to massive destruction. Not mass extinction, because it will only affect areas and not EVERYTHING, but it would weaken Eorzea a lot, making it easy for Garlemald to invade what is left of it.
In grid CS with the empire the white empire guy was talking to the person you see in mission 46 he did not want to go with the plan of using the Dalamud because it would also mean the end for the empire city. But the white empire guy said we still going with our plan we need to wipe out the 5 race and the beastman. He also said that the race that use Dalamud seem to have wipe themself out when they used Dalamud the last time but not 100% sure but don't think it's a Meteor that going to hit Eorzea it may shot stuff to eorzea or something else i guess we have to wait.Dalamud has been close to Hydaelyn's moon Menphina for hundreds of years so the distance didn't change until recently (1.21) when Dalamud left it's normal course. Assuming that melphina is of the same size and distance from hydalin as the earths moon. How big would this "Tiny speck" have to be to be visible to the naked eye?Not too sure about that.

You do get the its not a moon reference right?
Go back and watch star wars.
Write back to me when the empire destroys alderaan by slamming the death star into it.

Some satellites with the size of a bus are visible to the naked eye.
Granted, they are not as far away as the moon, but whatver Dalamud is, it wouldn't have to be too big to be visible from Eorzea.
So still probably not big enough to lead to mass extinction
I'm not into nerdy guys stuff like Star Wars
Isn't the death star that black orb Darth Vader rides on while screaming NOOOOOOOOO?
