Get the main character syndrome out of your head. Tanks don't lead or set the pace, the party does. If the tank is not dying, the mobs are dying fast cause the DPS are competent and the healer can keep up, then you can at least try to wall to wall, because why not? It's just waiting time at that point if you do not. I repeat, tanks do not set the pace, that's an egoist mindset. Neither do healers or DPS. It's a party thing. As a tank your job is to maintain aggro and threat so your party does not get mauled to death by mobs. A healers job is to heal unavoidable damage on the tank and keep them and the DPS alive (and take care of dps that step in red/get hit with unavoidable damage) and a DPS's job is to play their job competently and kill packs/mobs/bosses as fast and effectively as they can to help the healer and tank use less recourses to survive the encounter. That's it. No role ever states anything about being a 'leader' or a 'follower' and as I mentioned before that's a self-centred and egoist mindset to have. If others have aggro, and you are a tank, do your role and take threat and aggro off them. If the party wipes, it simply means you can't do it, and if you survive, great, everything is fine. Pulling ahead constantly even when you ask not to is shitty behaviour, but so is pulling a 'I refuse to heal you' or saying 'You pull you tank'. One does not excuse nor allow the other.
