Civil? Most absolutely. Handing out participation trophies so they won't get their feelings hurt? I can tell you that's not how I'm raising my kids and they don't seem to have a problem with daddy about it. Being competitive, constantly challenged and being told when I was wrong has made me a much better person than I would've been if people just nodded with a smile at everything I did.
