Tbh this shouldn't take more than 1 min and you should already have done this beforehand especially in Savage and Extremes.
99% of the time it just seems like people are stalling to wait until people get too frustrated and leave.

Your whole argument seems to be about gear loot. Nobody cares about dungeon or alliance raid gear because it's a worse item level than anything they have if they care about item level and those that cared about it for glamour could just not enter the fight until they have rolled on their precious rare glamour drop if it's that important.90 seconds is not enough. i would not lower it past 3 minutes. 5 minutes is fine though because assuming your party is competent the time it takes to kill each group of enemies between bosses should not take longer than that save for a few older, ARR dungeons that are absurdly long due to being remakes of 1.0 ones which were even longer.
a bad party, someone's refusing to do their job or is afk, waiting for a fourth person to come in because someone left for whatever reason, someone pulls because they feel the tank is taking too long, a 24-man raid where you have multiple impatient people and a variety of other situations means that a pull may take more than 90 seconds.
there is absolutely NO situation however where you -need- an item from a chest right that second. that's why ilvl requirements for duties exist. if you are in a dungeon it's because the game knows you should be able to handle it and those few extra stats from a single piece of equipment isn't going to improve your damage or heal output enough to make it worth having it right that second.
The loot that I care about is always at the very end when there are no fights remaining, such as the end of the alliance raid when orchestrions, minions and triple triad cards drop or the end of a normal raid when 8 or more different sets of loot drop. In this situation, at the very end, making people wait 5 minutes before they can exit just because the person wants to feed a cat instead of rolling wastes a lot of people's time. At least the timer could be reduced for the final loot chest of any content because there are no bosses remaining to interrupt the roll.
Yeah the last roll after the last boss could be shorter. There is nothing left to distract you from rolling on loot (except cut scenes)
I don’t see what’s do difficult about choosing gear.1 minute seems too low with the rush-rush-rush attitude most people have. Timers are set to accommodate players like myself - relatively new to the game, leveling characters, maybe with an alt, who doesn't always know what they need.
So my options are quickly need or greed everything, or take a look at the loot to see what's being offered.
And if I'm the tank, I suffer dirty looks from people wanting me to speed up.
3 minutes might be better; I haven't checked. 1 is way too short.
Is it for your class? Plate, cloth or light armour.
Are the numbers for defence green or red?
If green and for your class, roll need. Or just roll on everything and sort it after.
And for you it may be that simple. /clap. But what about people who don't remember what gear they have for every job off the top of their heads or otherwise don't want to just roll on everything and sort it out later?
Level 57 aiming piece drops. Hm, what level is my bard again? What do I have already? Do I need this? Hold on, let me check. Oh, the tank is already off running to the next trash pack. Oops, too late, the 60 second timer is already done and the item poofed.
So open your character, check your bards level… it doesn’t have to be complicated. You don’t need to sort through your entire inventoryAnd for you it may be that simple. /clap. If it's for your role, need. Not, greed. Don't care, pass.
Just let me kick the afk jackwagon refusing to roll on loot so we can't kick him.
Totally agree. There's no reason to extend it or keep it as it is.The current loot timer is WAY too long and always has been. There is no reason for it to be as long as it is. I'm getting tired of people abusing it to avoid being kicked in dungeons because they know if they don't roll, you have to waste half the dungeon time just sitting there to remove them or you have people that sit there after a Trial or Raid and hope you don't notice you didn't get the roll yet and leave or just sit there out of spite and hope you would rather leave than waste all the time sitting there. This has always been a bad system and should have been changed a long, long time ago. It doesn't take that much time to decide on loot.

I’m all for it if the timer reduction applies only to older DF contents in general.
Newer, EX, & Savages? I’d like to keep the 5 minutes. Because I’d like to double check my note of which gear coffer I’m going to roll & my group would often do the same. Weekly restricted on NR’s inception patch? Definitely, I want to make sure I’m rolling the right piece. I only got 1 chance each week after all.

I think once the duty is finished it should be lowered to 60 seconds if it is higher. Theres no reason to have to wait 5 minutes after a 24 man is over for a minion.
