Loot timer needs to be lowered to 1 minute.

The current loot timer is WAY too long and always has been. There is no reason for it to be as long as it is. I'm getting tired of people abusing it to avoid being kicked in dungeons because they know if they don't roll, you have to waste half the dungeon time just sitting there to remove them or you have people that sit there after a Trial or Raid and hope you don't notice you didn't get the roll yet and leave or just sit there out of spite and hope you would rather leave than waste all the time sitting there. This has always been a bad system and should have been changed a long, long time ago. It doesn't take that much time to decide on loot.

when it's an item everyone wants and a person just intentionally waits until the very end to encourage people to leave (see: ivalice raids) i can understand the frustration but sometimes groups of mobs take longer than 1 minute to take down and i don't want to have to roll for loot while killing things because a dps or healer has decided to go rouge and open a chest.

The timer is fine as it is. It gives people time to figure out if the gear is better than what they already have, especially if it is not for the class they are currently on. Or time to figure out if they like the glam or think if they have that orchestian roll or not.

What I have heard people do is say they've rolled and need to brb for a few minutes. Usually gets the trolls to roll or leave. As the trolls are trying to get the loot via people giving up. If they have to wait the full time, then they're more likely to just roll.

Tbh this shouldn't take more than 1 min and you should already have done this beforehand especially in Savage and Extremes.
99% of the time it just seems like people are stalling to wait until people get too frustrated and leave.

A new player with more than one class may take more than a minute to figure out if the gear is better than what they have. Especially in content that drops multiple items. Or for the new player to alliance raids: what all the random items in the loot are used for so they can decide if they want to roll on them or not.

OP didn't specify what content they want the shorter timer for and it's unknown if they're able to have separate timers between content. If they were able to split between content, I'd be fine with a reduction in the timer for Extremes and Savages down to maybe 3 minutes to allow for some discussion.

It's why you claim you're going AFK after you've rolled if you suspect there's a troll trying to game the system and you don't feel like making them wait the timer out.

If you're running into enough instances of this to where it is bothering you, you might be the problem causing your party members to want to grief you. I do my roulettes every day and only run into trolls once a week, if that.

It's a rare occurrence, but when it happens it annoys me to no end since it's so easy to abuse. I've been dealing with this since 2.0.

I think, a lower rate of time is fine. 3 mins (180 seconds) are enough. No need to wait 5 mins for some loot.

I could see lowering it a little bit, maybe to 3-4 minutes, but 1 minute is WAY too short.
