Who do I give Dance Partner to if a DD goes AFK? Genuinely dunno because it happened once in a dungeon and my fellow friend got mad I wasted the partnering on an AFK person. Does it go on the tank?

In dungeons, usually better to put it on the tank if you absolutely have to swap.

In 8-man groups, usually gear and aggro generation amongst the DPS are the best tools one has to determine optimal partnering without the use of a crystal ball.

I saw one today who did the full Improv dance every time there was a stack marker. Even when nobody was standing with him anymore.

I have seen that so many times from ShB to now, and it remains as painful as the day I first experienced it. It's up there with ASTs who hold their Collective Unconscious for the entire duration, long after damage has gone out and people have moved out of the bubble.

Yeah, I don't mesh well AT ALL with tanks that need to be babysat. Lol.

Additional: Just had to solo much of the last boss of the level 89 dungeon, after my partner, the reaper, died by mechanics. I was Paladin. The healer and other DPS died early on in the fight, but I felt we were both doing enough damage that we could get it done reasonably quickly.

Decided to run a few Normals as Sage before bed to fill spare time, finished a smooth p3 ...and I got complimented and 5 comms. This actually took me by surprise because I rarely get comms as healer, maybe one every 2-3 runs. I even wondered if the compliment was sarcastic at first because I wasn't GCD healing enough. GCD heal spam is an easy ticket to comms.

Figured it was a premade, checked "that" website and sure enough 5 of them were, they'd logged it and it was a nice run. I've spent so many runs churning out damage while mapping heals without letting anyone die, for no thanks, that I'd almost wondered if there was something I was doing wrong. It's amazing how rare it is to get a "hey, nice job" for putting in effort in this game. It's not an expectation, but still a nice feeling from time to time.

Of course as we all know, parses are toxic, raiders are toxic and numbers are only used for harassment...

Met a weird DRK in Aitiascope.
Rolled as a SCH, the DPSes are RPR and BLM. Sweet! This will be swift!

Except, not really. DRK single pulls all the way to the end. First ‘accident’ wall pull after twin ghosts was initiated by me because I just ran past the first pack of mob without paying attention to the tanks. Tanked the imps and zombie(?) for a good while before I realized the DRK is nowhere to be seen. They’re still plowing the first pack of mobs, by themselves. BLM and RPR apparently went with me. I just drag the pulled mob to the DRK.

But this is where their behavior caught my interest:
• Normally when a random tank who noticed their party member aggro’ed something, they’d be like ”Where are they!?” and y’know, do their job. Pull off the aggro away.
• This tank? Nope. Just continue plowing the first pack of mob.
• They only swap target when I bring the mobs close enough, about 15y. They also made a weird movement before switching target. Kinda like rotating in place to adjust their camera.
• Fast forward to pulls after 1st boss. Once again I ran ahead of the first set of mob, indicating that I want a wall pull. DRK didn’t really cared.
• BLM who was apparently matching my running pace decided to just pull the mob back to the DRK
• Once again, DRK didn’t really try to grab the mob until they are close enough. Again, same rotating movement again.
• Next pull, DRK just decided to ignore Haurchefant’s damage dealt and reduction buff and face pulled the mob who’s apparently wandering a bit closer than usual.
• This time it’s the RPR’s turn to pull the 2nd set of mobs back to the DRK. Again, same weird movement.
• All remaining pulls till the end were done the same way. DRK just grab the first set of mob, then one of us just grabbed the 2nd set of mob for the DRK. Of course, without excluding those weird movements.
• Final boss cleared. The DRK ran to the wall for good 10s before once again stopping, rotating toward the exit, then bolt out of the dungeon. Oh yeah, they also never rolled for anything, at all.

Weird, because if there is one place I can consistently get comms it's in the new raids. Now, I've never had a smooth P3, but that's besides the point. I don't really GCD heal at all either, typically I do do the mechanics well enough though. I don't usually die. Granted, I have gotten commendations even when I have failed a mechanic and died (just not paying attention). Usually people just call me a glare spammer and don't bother.

Just had one the most upsetting and humiliating runs I've ever had. Why? Because of me. Bless the group I was with for being so patient and understanding.
Group was me as AST, GNB, DRG, and a DNC who was new to the dungeon.
The dungeon was Dead Ends. Let me preface by saying I never get this dungeon so I have no idea what I'm doing in here.
First boss. I never have any idea where to stand when the wind is blowing. So I ended up wiping the group twice as a result. DRG resorts to putting a mark over his head so I know where to go. We finally got it down on the third attempt.
Second boss. I die almost immediately because I forgot you're not supposed to stand in the middle. DNC also dies for the same reason. The GNB and DRG killed the boss by themselves.
Third boss. Me and DNC get hit by his prance attack. Died shortly after because he did the AOE damage attack. GNB explains how the boss works and we down it next attempt.

I gave the DNC my commendation because even though they were new, they did infinitely better than I did. Somehow I ended up with two commendations even though I did so poorly. Sorry I just needed to vent about this guys.

I got two proper rescues off that actually saved people in a Dead Ends just now.

I met one of those legendary WARs who don't use mitigation in Lv 80 alliance raid roulette. Specifically went out of their way to not tank but not seem like they're doing nothing. For the first half of the bosses, basically the DPS had to tank the tethers because this guy wouldn't do anything.

It must be said... he said he had to go afk for a bit, killed himself, then teleported out. After that, I saw them use the sprint skill after the first boss was down, teleported in, afked for the next half of the boss and then said they were back. Circumstances permitting, I'd figure they were going to come back but something else popped in midway until they truly returned for the remaining half of alliance raid.

Since they were back, I told them they should turn their tank stance on because there's multiple tank mechanics that require a tankbuster. He turned on tank stance... only to turn it off immediately after 3 hits. After he fell to 7th on the aggro list.. I see him provoke without stance. It was... definitely something interesting. Ate all the telegraphed AoEs, still didn't mitigate until both healers decided to give up on him (and that's when he used Nascent Flash and nothing else in the whole fight).

When adds came... he ran to another alliance's add with his tank stance off. The poor DPS in our team literally took a tankbuster and died. Healers had to pull him back for the stack marker. I'd give the benefit of the doubt that the guy was new. However... he was not. In the final boss, some people had cutscenes and the alliance said "cutscenes, please wait". There was one on our team too. Nope, this guy immediately had cutscenes disabled so he skipped the final boss cutscene. Then he FINALLY turns on tank stance and then pulls the boss before everyone was done with cutscenes. What the ...

I remember getting a Tank like this during Brute Justice once. Intentionally trolled just to make things frustrating for everyone else.
