They're still literally different roles, with different role skills.
Nevermind the difference in armor class, stats, and the fact that casters literally cast (although less nowadays) and most of phys ranged's dps is from support.

Please give us at least a new scouting job. I have an unbelievable amount of scouting gear and potential glams I could make with them but since Ninja just never clicked with me, I can't really use any of it.

yet that difference is not set in stone. rdm on release was pretty much a support caster.
what the two roles have in common vastly outweighs their differences. what was a hw range but a caster in all but name? if a caster has no cast times do they change roles?
or are both roles functionally the same dps that dont have to be in melee range and all other distinctions are subject to change?

    I don't want new jobs.

Endwalker is an amazing expansion, but for me class design has been a low point. Across the board there is a lot of unimaginative "when you use your big dps hit, you get another bigger dps hit!" or "here's an aoe version of your single target oGCD to bloat your bar", or "here's a simple mechanical upgrade to an ability, but we've called it a Trait so we don't have to make a real trait". Healers in particular are an utter mess, AST is bloated and WHM is straight up bad. There's even a mechanic in p3s designed to exclude WHM. The Barrier/Pure divide was a joke, there is no distinct playstyle, they just gave 2 of the 4 Pure healers some GCD shields and split us in 2 groups. Tanks too, DRK was virtually forgotten this expansion but they gave it high damage so it's "fine" despite being mechanically clunkier compared to the other 3. We still have ranged tax, Piety, Tenacity, classes that have their rotation hurt by SkS/SpS, terrible balance at lower level despite lv70 Ultimates existing, a SMN rework that allows it to be macro'd to 1 button and parse purple and so on.

The new classes, Sage and Reaper, have their flaws but you can see they put a lot of love into them. The issue is there are just too many classes to put that much love into and naturally that the more they keep adding the thinner they're spreading themselves. It is literally impossible from a development perspective to add more and more and more classes, while simultaneously making them higher and higher quality, while not stretching your limited resources at all. Impossible. Something has to give.
The solution so far has been to play it safer and safer and gradually the innovation and excitement in class design has been watered down.

I want quality when it comes to jobs. Not quantity. There's more than enough quantity already. Please focus on quality now.

Joking aside.. its not about being happy with a job.. If I feeling like my job hindrance to my team.. job no longer fun even if it is fun..
PLD was a hindrance but luckily SE noticed kinda fixed it.. MCH still hindrance I like job it self (idea of job with tech gadgets) but not going to bother leveling it.
The thing about MCH, as well as BRD, is that both are attacking in a very awkward way to begin with. Despite using projectile based Weaponry, they have infinite Ammo, no reloading and no different Ammo/Arrow types (no, the BRD DoTs arent different Arrow types. It is no big Secret that Squeenix uses DoTs just as filler Abilities instead of making a dedicated DoT themed Job).

Imo, BRD, DNC and MCH should have faster GCD, like 1-1,5sec but in exchange, it being tied to Ammo (or in DNC case, tied to standard/technical step, so that for the Duration, you get the GCD Rolling for the duration but if you mess up, you gotta start over with using Standardstep again), like MCH having 6 Shots before reload, and BRD 18 or 24, but at the cost of having to Reload longer.

To me, current Phy. Ranged Dps is just melee dps at range, and that's exactly how they play like.

That is just my two cents on the matter.

Melee DPS have 3 different armor classes, do we need another maiming and two more scouting jobs first so that they match the amount of jobs using casting?

The difference between STR, DEX, INT and MND are purely cosmetic. You don't get a choice which to stack, and they all do the exact same thing.

Not a single physical ranged produces most of its DPS from support, one physical ranged doesn't even have any DPS support skills at all. They're on the same scale of selfish vs. support as the other DPS roles.

So the choice is between "new job" and "nuke an old job and replace it with essentially a new job". Seems a bit obvious.

The new MNK and SMN feels amazing. Each button you press just make sense and the flow around situation really well. For example, SMN can swap around their pets summon to fit what best for them. The consolidation of button allow it to not feel so bloat. To some degree, this is just like BLM too. To that, the priority system in rotation feels really good. I feel like I am in control.

Yes, having new jobs will hype the expansion. However, we are at 19 jobs now. At this point, I hope it's early enough to convince that a rework for old jobs are just as exciting, and just as cool, as having a new one.

With that said, thank you again to dev of ffxiv. They work really hard to get us this far and I am so looking forward for more.

Please be mindful and kind to one another when sharing opinions.
Instead of focusing on jobs SE needs to work URGENTLY in how content at max level its being played.

Since level 90 I have been doing nothing but doing pre ARR/HW content because that's what everyone does according to roulettes , level syncs sucks it makes me don't even play this game knowing I'll have to deal with CT for 29837498237432984 time, seeing myself pressing 1-2-3 for countless hours isn't fun and it makes people quit or burn out very quick.

This game urgently needs to be looked around open world/mobs/rewards/drops/difficulty/etc, they solely focus 95% on MSQ which at this point could be just be a 2 hours film in YT.

Learn from Genshin,Monster Hunter even other dead's MMO like RO.

Horrible idea simply because they tuned back too much many pre-EW jobs from the media tour build. How about no. It was not even worth the six year wait for a new healer.

I'm completely fine not having a new shiny job.
Much prefer if they spend the time FIXING or completely overhaul some jobs (looks at healers and Living Dead for example).
..and doing them CORRECTLY for once!
