Welcome to PC gaming. I have people that can run the game in ultra resolutions or with graphics I'm not able to achieve because of my current hardware. However, I'm still failing to see the competitive aspect. There's no competition in this game, zero. The only competition regarding PvE content might be if you're talking about world-first, which there are zero plugins and add-ons to help you with by the time you're competing.

But discussing that is useless, your feeling regarding competition aren't mine, so whatever. To each their own.

Should people get banned for the mouse/keyboard with extra buttons and macros?

Not on any side but I'm just curious. PC will always have more advantage than consoles, be it graphics, FPS, network connection or accessories that you can't ban or track.

Some competitive games actually do try to ban people for that, but I think it's more of a token gesture because - as you allude to - it's very difficult to detect/track.

In FF14, technically speaking, you could get banned for making a macro with a gaming keyboard/mouse to, say, avoid the AFK timer... but the chance of enforcement is probably close to nil.
