"oh no people are having fun, the drama !!!"

Just gonna state the obvious for people who think Square is just not allowing mods on PS4/5 (since I saw this get brought up).
Sony is notorious for not wanting their system modded, I believe only Farming Sim, Fallout 4 & maybe Skyrim are actually cleared for it. I would point the finger in their direction more than Square here in terms of that.
Square should just return the ability to sleep anywhere (they removed it, allegedly to combat ERPers. LOL) and give us a /chairsit emote similar to /groundsit that lets us sit in a chair-sitting pose. Then nobody would feel compelled to use bad methods to just sit on a ledge or sleep on the ground or whatever.

when was this a thing? i’ve been playing since ARR closed beta and do not remember being able to sleep anywhere let alone having it removed to “combat ERPers” (despite /play dead existing)Square should just return the ability to sleep anywhere (they removed it, allegedly to combat ERPers. Yoshi P said at any point without warning or anything SE may ban you for using any form of mods. They don't want to go on witch hunt for now, but they may go for it. There are many ways to find you without spyware (devs do that from Lineage 1).
- To not see other players debuff timers is game design and even have mechanics related with it. Yes, you can see them when you target them, but this is not how you figure out mechanics related with it, right?
- I play the game from ARR and I had not a single run registered on savages/extreme in ARR, HS, SB and even in ShB. In last week I was shown by a friend I have around 20 registered clears this expansion. All the years I played FF there was raiding community. If they ban DPS meters, don't be surprised to see you may be vocal minority.
- Toxisity coming from "quality of life" users are super vocal in every discord or FF community. People even this forum opened topic "PS5 users and PC should have separated servers". If not seperating the community means to remove 300 000 users, I don't mind it at all.
- Gposing, I agree with the modding community on this one. Most of the features in Gposing mod should be in the game. More open for edit and poses photo mode would be absolutely great for everyone. But I don't know a single person that would literally not live without it.
- The big deal, NSFW modding. There are games specifically made for NSFW, grow up and go there. FF 14 have no age verification, it is not planned to be 18+ game and nobody should force it to be. You would probably say if people use it with concensus and in private, there is no trouble. Are you really that naive? I have a friend that plays FF 14 from back in the days when she was underaged and she was sent not once, but 4 times NSFW photos of her character without her permission to even be photographed.
- Bard player is ruining the expirience for players that actually can play and I know this will take a lot of hate. Once I met a guy that actually can play for real, he played few songs super cool thing. But after him a "band' jumped on the stage with their trio midi and took the entire attention. This expirience for me was an eye opener. The only reason music exists is to be enjoyed by other people and the reward of playing music is taken away at this point.
- Even partially using mods as Xeno and other world popular streamers are getting affected by it beause their popularity stands on them being good at the game, but when half Limsa have Ultimates cleared (no matter if they used mods or not, because you can't proof they did used or did not used) they become nothing, everyone can do what they do. So they kind of shooting themselves in the knee, you can't be the noticeably good player when everyone have no troubles to "play" at your level.
And why world first use mods "Cheating in video games is having advantage over normal gameplay". All world first are just cheating their way to the top.

Why do you think content creators like xeno make guides for savage and ulti fights? They arent shooting themselves in the knee, they want more people to clear more savage and more ultimates because they find it fun content and it ultimately would (when successfully done) make it a bigger focus for the devs. Everyone can clear ultimates, people who claim otherwise just dont want to invest time into doing so.- Even partially using mods as Xeno and other world popular streamers are getting affected by it beause their popularity stands on them being good at the game, but when half Limsa have Ultimates cleared (no matter if they used mods or not, because you can't proof they did used or did not used) they become nothing, everyone can do what they do. Not to mention, Xeno's popularity this past year has never been higher. He's consistently averaging 1,000 viewers every time he streams. So in a post with a whole lot of nonsense that particular paragraph really stands out as just being comically incorrect. Why do you think content creators like xeno make guides for savage and ulti fights? "Stand in the ashes of a trillion dead souls and ask the ghosts if honor matters."
"The silence is your answer."
They do guides because people need them, if the toys give you out the battle, nobody will watch their guides. And if you check the streams of Xeno and other hardcore players as him, their views jump from 1k to 15k when there is new content that people want to see cleared. When you have more and more tools to clear it day one before guide and you will not need to figure it out blind, people will not go to watch them, but just go and clear. And don't forget no matter if you like or not specific streamer, this is business model. Streamers don't put "good job" comments as food on the table. Videos with high view count may help better with the food.
I agree for ultimates, so far I can't find full group of 8 people crazy enough to clear them entirely blind. I personally clear content only in blind, so if there is no people for something, I just avoid it until I find. But I am looking forward to it, there are few people that started to feel the hype for it.
Something unrelated that I noticed. Stop the fake news. There is not a single streamer that was banned for using dps meter. Even Xeno, Zepla and Arthars agreed all banned streamers were using cheats after they saw more detailed info about what mods were used by banned streamers. SE do not ban for mass reports because they do this manually. For unaware souls, mass report ban works when it is bot enforcing the ban. The guy that became popular in Japan was banned once before for using cheating mods and it was not huge surprise for taking another one for it, it had nothing to do with him being massively reported because he is white in Japan as many tried to "fake news". My concern and all the points I explained down are related with possibility of SE to enforce their rules.
Right now the arrogance of people that use insane amount of mods is in "they can't know if you do" because Yoshi said they don't want to add anti cheat, but that was not solid statement as it will never happen, this entirely depends on the community. At the same time way before anti cheats were a thing devs were just adding "traps". I believe system like this is used against mods in FF because there are really not a lot of them, but pretty much it works by the devs dowloading targeted mod and look how it interacts with the game. They find interactions that can't be achieved in normal play and add code to check if those actions are performed, this can be done both on game files and only client side stuff and server side changes. And SE may start doing this at any point if they decide specific part of the communiy crossed the line too far, as in my opinion they already did.
