VIERA AND HROTHGAR COMPLAINT MEGATHREAD

I'm glad I like more of the guy Viera hairstyles than the gals, but the option set is still pretty abysmal. I'm also glad we have actually gotten new styles at all, even though they're styles I personally probably won't be using. The ponytail is one of my favorite styles in the game but it just doesn't look good on Viera.

But yeah. Signed for hoping they give us some kind of love soon. I love this game and I love Viera, but limitations built into them are still pretty disappointing on the whole.

i think a problem that they have in common (especially with au ra) is that they have different shaped heads and so the older hairstyles kinda frame their face differently and looks off.

this is also true for hrothgar. through certain means you are able to forcibly put on different hrothgar hairstyles onto the different faces, and for the most part they clip or just sit on their head like a bad wig which is why i assume hrothgar hair is the way it is. but then again that begs the question: what was the logic behind this design choice? why did they just make hrothgar into a dollar-store knockoff ronso instead of going all in on ronso? they went all in on viera and they were well received (aside from the hair/hat issue).

I've definitely been seeing more and more people switch back off viera again. I think many switched because of the hairstyle update, but, yeah, obviously it is not enough yet. There just isn't enough variety in hairs, and the quality is really iffy on many. I am a bit concerned with how further ported hairs will look.

Thing is, I don't feel like "myself" when I play Au Ra. When vieras were released I finally had a race I absolutely adored (and I played Au Ra before that, but viera felt like "home"). I loved everything about her, even with the lack of hairstyles. Now I am not enjoying the game as much since I feel I don't have access to the entire game regardless oh what race I play. Either I play Au Ra, have access to all things ingame but have to be without my beloved viera, or I go viera and well....a large part of glamoptions disappear for me. It feels bad. I am already regretting using a fantasia but I have two more so.....

And honestly Idk about the coming hairstyles. On Au ra it is just crazy. There are so many options, and even the 5head ponytail sits good on my character. You have the racespecific ones, the raceshared ones and then the added/optional ones. there are soooo many hairstyles for all other races. How can they not see that the discrepancy would be so noticeable? Or do they see but not care? Why say we were getting more hairstyles and then not deliver? Why add those hairstyles first? Will we ever catch up?

Yep, au ra has everything available, from short to long, and a variety of each, so it can make it easier to glamour, and vary your look(s). It's probably pretty jarring after having played a viera for so long. I'm sure they do see the discrepancy, it's just simply not a priority at all, and apparently they never intended on adding any further styles previously anyway. It is still too early to say if they won't deliver this time around, but I am not going to get my hopes up. I want to be pleasantly surprised. Will viera ever catch up? I seriously doubt it. Best we can hope for is a decent selection of varied, quality, hairstyles.

It just boggles my mind that a big company like this, that boasts 22mil players worldwide, would leave such gaping holes in their design. It is ridic that hrothgars have to pay to change hairstyle. And I am with you, vieras are not prioritized and probably never will be. They will probably never catch up and there will be little reason to run certain events for vieras and hrothgar until they decide to actually rework their designs. Which will happen approximately when they fix up the other races as well....(never).

Man, I love this community. I was afraid even chiming in would elicit some variant of “Oh, G-d, this thread again.” but honestly it hasn’t

I want Square to come back in and finish the Hrothgar and Viera. Really finish them and polish them and make them shine. I don’t know about my Viera compatriots but I’m ok with wearing a brainbucket where my ears don’t stick through. But I’m not ok with the combination of my mullet, posture and regular armor looking like a complete mess in the back.

I get why people forget to check these areas, but, the one who sees my character the most, by far is I. The part of my character I see the most is the back. And I’ve grown out my horrible hair twice now for locks of love and when it gets too unruly back there?

A hat. So just clean it up or let me wear a hat.

Vieras ARE in your corner as well. Hrothgars are mentioned by vieras throughout these threads. Hardly a "us vs them" situation.

It's the most Blizzard/EA thing I can think of and it came from this very company. It's shameful.

It's not a competition of who has it worse. The Viera and Hrothgar have had minimalistic work done in all the time they've been released and that's the underlining issue here. Your situation may be more severe but I'm still entitled to be annoyed at the neglect for both of these races.

I didn't mention Hrothgar that much in my OG post because we don't know the extent of their update in patch 6.1. - I'm giving SE more faith. I'd like to think your situation has major improvements or maybe that's just me being optimistic, we will see.
