i think a problem that they have in common (especially with au ra) is that they have different shaped heads and so the older hairstyles kinda frame their face differently and looks off.
this is also true for hrothgar. through certain means you are able to forcibly put on different hrothgar hairstyles onto the different faces, and for the most part they clip or just sit on their head like a bad wig which is why i assume hrothgar hair is the way it is. but then again that begs the question: what was the logic behind this design choice? why did they just make hrothgar into a dollar-store knockoff ronso instead of going all in on ronso? they went all in on viera and they were well received (aside from the hair/hat issue).
