Also, as a bit of a side note, thank you for providing the most common not-so-helpful replies. I hate seeing these when we’re dealing with a video game. Something like “LUL, you knew this going in” - well, no we didn’t. We were told “more slowly than other races” not “you will forever have to dye your mane even on your class armor because the clipping is so bad, even the Gunbreaker trainer’s mane sticks out.” That’s not a “you’re whiny” thing - that’s just poor quality control.

I'm glad I like more of the guy Viera hairstyles than the gals, but the option set is still pretty abysmal. I'm also glad we have actually gotten new styles at all, even though they're styles I personally probably won't be using. The ponytail is one of my favorite styles in the game but it just doesn't look good on Viera.

But yeah. Signed for hoping they give us some kind of love soon. I love this game and I love Viera, but limitations built into them are still pretty disappointing on the whole.

i think a problem that they have in common (especially with au ra) is that they have different shaped heads and so the older hairstyles kinda frame their face differently and looks off.

this is also true for hrothgar. through certain means you are able to forcibly put on different hrothgar hairstyles onto the different faces, and for the most part they clip or just sit on their head like a bad wig which is why i assume hrothgar hair is the way it is. but then again that begs the question: what was the logic behind this design choice? why did they just make hrothgar into a dollar-store knockoff ronso instead of going all in on ronso? they went all in on viera and they were well received (aside from the hair/hat issue).

I did the event but I didnt even pay attention to the cutscenes (skipped) and I just did them for completion. Because, what was the point (as viera) since I cant even try them on. Being on Au Ra now there is so much freedom when you want to do glams. Doesn't matter if a chestpiece has a high collar because there are so many short or semishort hairstyles to pick from, while I as viera was forced into 3 of them unless I wanted to clip the hairs. Sure the horns clip a bit here and there but at least I can wear the headpiece.
They should just let vieras have the option to let ears clip or remove them, and then the coming headpieces can just be adjusted.

I've definitely been seeing more and more people switch back off viera again. I think many switched because of the hairstyle update, but, yeah, obviously it is not enough yet. There just isn't enough variety in hairs, and the quality is really iffy on many. I am a bit concerned with how further ported hairs will look.

Thing is, I don't feel like "myself" when I play Au Ra. When vieras were released I finally had a race I absolutely adored (and I played Au Ra before that, but viera felt like "home"). I loved everything about her, even with the lack of hairstyles. Now I am not enjoying the game as much since I feel I don't have access to the entire game regardless oh what race I play. Either I play Au Ra, have access to all things ingame but have to be without my beloved viera, or I go viera and well....a large part of glamoptions disappear for me. It feels bad. I am already regretting using a fantasia but I have two more so.....

And honestly Idk about the coming hairstyles. On Au ra it is just crazy. There are so many options, and even the 5head ponytail sits good on my character. You have the racespecific ones, the raceshared ones and then the added/optional ones. there are soooo many hairstyles for all other races. How can they not see that the discrepancy would be so noticeable? Or do they see but not care? Why say we were getting more hairstyles and then not deliver? Why add those hairstyles first? Will we ever catch up?

I did think it was definitely a missed opportunity to not have at least a line or two of special dialogue for Hrothgar for a Year of the Tiger event. But, hopefully, this will be the Year of the Hrothgar! Better/more customization, etc. as well as females, for those who have been waiting.

Man, I love this community. I was afraid even chiming in would elicit some variant of “Oh, G-d, this thread again.” but honestly it hasn’t

I want Square to come back in and finish the Hrothgar and Viera. Really finish them and polish them and make them shine. I don’t know about my Viera compatriots but I’m ok with wearing a brainbucket where my ears don’t stick through. But I’m not ok with the combination of my mullet, posture and regular armor looking like a complete mess in the back.

I get why people forget to check these areas, but, the one who sees my character the most, by far is I. The part of my character I see the most is the back. And I’ve grown out my horrible hair twice now for locks of love and when it gets too unruly back there?

A hat. So just clean it up or let me wear a hat.
