Why do you care so much about what adults do with other adults in private spaces?

I think PvP is stupid, but I don't go around mocking PvPers or spitefully gloating when they are treated unfairly. I just do my own thing and don't play PvP. Like any decent human being would.

Even if you care about what they offer in private, why is it even relevant? We've been over multiple times that the ToS explicitly permits ERP between consenting adults. The fact it's even being factored in or discussed says some things about where y'all's priorities lie.

It doesn't permit advertising it. Thats what this is about. No one went to the venue and got report happy after asking for the service. They advertised it in PF....

Now you're the one lying. The party finder advertisement doesn't give details on escort services. It clearly states upfront that they are 18+ for reasons other than horny RP. And again, GMs have ruled that advertising a venue is permitted in the Party Finder.

Unfortunately we don't have a complete explanation as SE is weirdly closeted about being explicit in how TOS is being violated.
However, so far as we can tell, it would seem that because these services were listed on their carrd and the carrd was linked in the posting, that seems to have been what triggered the issue.
SE can and does look at third-party tools that people use (Twitch, Twitter, Carrd, etc) to extend moderation, and therefore even though these activities are allowed within the game, they are not allowed to be advertised in the PF.

As for '18+/21+' as a venue type or listing, there are many reasons that adults would not want to roleplay or mingle around minors outside of basic gameplay content, even if the venue is completely safe for work.
I've worked for a number of in-game clubs in my time on this game. None of them have offered ERP as a service, yet all of them have said that they only wish for adults, 18 and over, to attend.

It's definitely defense of the ESRB, since there's many different countries connecting to the servers. US might not care about player run 18+ services, but other countries are far more strict. A company like SE would be out of its mind to let the PF be perceived as flaunting its rating by supporting player led 18+ venues, especially in more hardcore or conservative countries that barely accept online gaming as a part of their reality, and are looking for a way to kick something like FFXIV to the curb.

You can bet it is an ESRB based policy, and that the GM is doing the bidding of their employer.

If they have the venue carrd linked in pf, and the carrd details escort services... then by that definition its an advertisement....


Again, I don't have anything against roleplayers, nor do I care what they do. But there's so much masking of the truth in these threads and gaslighting saying SE is out to get EVERY roleplayer, which is insane.

according to the ToS its only a problem if someone is there with you, finds it offensive, and reports you.
