Its called, "consideration of others" but I suppose that isn't something most people today wouldn't know about. Its how you foster a sense of community and understanding which is a lost art it seems.
Have you considered that others may not enjoy a single-pull experience?![]()
Just learn how to tank and you'll be good to go, simple as that. And tanking really is simple: use your cooldowns, dont use them all at once, hit aoe, done. Tankxiety is just an excuse for people who dont want to learn how to tank.
Were you not just complaining about how the game was catering to 30-40 year olds with the latest expansion?
WHERE IS THIS KETTLE EVERYONE KEEPS INTRODUCING ME TO?
This is simply just not true...people have been doing wall to wall pulls since ARR, and impatient players not happy with tanks pulling only 1 pack have been around just as long. This is not a WoW problem. The community has gotten a lot bigger, hence why you run into these people more, but they've always been around.
Don't worry friend I know what you're all about. Plenty of narcissistic people out there who think the world should revolve around them and could never possibly consider doing anything outside their immediate comfort zone. Why can't all those selfish other people just understand why they should follow and obey the tank's every whim? Life is so unfair.
Yup, but that's edgy anime fans 30-40 year olds... Even though that is a thing, it has been largely responsible for keeping the community rather pleasant until recently.
Or maybe, just maybe, not everyone is the same and needs to play the game the Japanese way of insane human reflexes. Dyspraxia actually exists and some of us can become easily confused if there is a large amount of chaos on screen so its better to keep pulls to a minimal level. Even as a healer, I have trouble keeping up with the tanks desire to pull the entire dungeon rather then doing it the way the developers actually intended. If they had intended for wall to wall pulling, why would there not just be one large trash pack between each boss in every dungeon?Don't worry friend I know what you're all about. Why do walls exist at all? Because that's the largest size pull the dungeon is designed for. So, actually, yes - Wall-to-wall pulls are part of the game's design. If they weren't, then the walls would be more frequent. Why allow tanks to pull two packs of mobs at all? Why do some walls end after two pulls, but some allow you to do three?
The mere fact of a wall's existence tells you everything you need to know about the intended pull size.
Here's the way I look at it, as the tank I have a responsibility to set the pace of the dungeons and get the group through it as quickly and efficently as possible. Everyone's time is just as valuable as mine. I have all the tools I need to do that, so I should try.
So to wall to wall pull, what I do is pop sprint before running in, then hit arms length after I hit the first pack with my aoe, and run to the next one. Then I start using my mitigation once they're all lined up.
ARR dungeons can be kind of meandering and have way more packs between walls than post-ARR dungeons, coupled with the fact that you get more mitigation as you level, I think the most awkward place for wall to wall pulling is the 35ish to 50 range. But it's still doable, you just gotta know the dungeons.
As for dungeons I've never been in, I tend to take packs 1 at a time before the first wall, just to get a vibe for how hard things hit and if there's anything special I need to watch out for, (strange aoe patterns, interrupts etc.). But I'm usually wall to walling by the by the end.
