Why would Paladins be anything but tanks?

Well, because they come out of a job called Gladiator, which implies combat, not protection. If there were a way I could stay Gladiator, and get increased damage, be able to use any weapon, and have some of the mitigation you get from heavy armor and a shield, I'd be all over that. Samurai is as close as it gets.

It woulda been neat if SAM woulda been a tank and then you could have a DPS version called RON for Ronin.

My advice is at the beginning of every dungeon just let people know you're new to tanking and are learning how to tank.

After that it's on them if they wanna stay or go, but as u get more use to tanking you'll eventually be cdortable with big pulls, but for now just learn at your own pace and at the beginning of a dungeon letsl people know your situation.

Other that you can lvl up with friends or in open world content to practice, or even palace of the dead or unlocking squadrons from your grand company and when your old is able to do SHB dungeons u can learn by using trusts.

The advice is to just tank. Especially at low levels; you're going to be overwhelmed. Just tank. Don't hunker down and play it safe or become intimidated, just tank.
