Considering I am the one to do the content with them, yes. There would be no reason to warrant any type of report from something like that, they aren't those kind of people. And for it to happen to two people hosting a party finder for the same thing and receive the same punishment, it's just logical at this point. To reiterate what I've said already, it happened to several other people that were advertising during PF at the same time with the exact same consequences. I don't really want to post other people's twitter threads that highlight this to avoid them getting trolled..

And yet here we are with the new ToS. Also, if you continue to say things such as my views are weird fantasies I will be forced to report you for harassment. This is my one warning to stop the personal attacks.
You can always test it by putting up an 18+ on OTHER and have a few people report you for it.

Continuation of RP Party Finder Account Suspensions

An add-on to this, our venue has faced the same issue as well. Our leader got promptly pulled into the GM Gaol, told that their party finder was inappropriate, and suspended without any penalties, even when they requested to speak to a supervisor or get any information why their advertisement was inappropriate.

The party finder was as stated here. On nights when the venue opens or on other days - we post no more than one or two:
VENUE NAME | Work when you want! | Heavy RP Cabaret | Apply here: [link]

Full links and discussion can be found in this Twitter post, but I will do my best to post images.

The discussion with said GM is as follows. Please pardon the quality as the user plays on PS4 and screenshots cannot be taken there. Player names are blocked for privacy.
They were immediately dropped into Radz-at-Han despite asking for reasoning and clarity and suspended.

Again, the reason was also "profanity", but this was not discussed at all when said person was pulled into the Gaol, other than "read the TOS".

As clearly stated in their "Updates to Prohibited Activities", advertising Player-Ran events in the "Other" category is not an offense.

Roleplayers do not want to break rules, just like all other players. But if we don't know what we're doing wrong, how can we correct our behavior? If we don't know what's "inappropriate" in our party finders when there are other party finders that advertise in a similar fashion, some with quite a handful of advertisements, then how are we able to fix the issue?

Said party finders can be seen right here. Names blocked for privacy.

Why does a player immediately get a 3 day suspension for a language infraction that can be easily fixed by simple explanation of what's "infracting" on the Party Finder, but as people have clearly stated - nothing against advertising a roleplay venue in the "Other" tab is against the rules.

Here is what you don't understand. FFXIV's rating supercedes your personal 18+ rating.

Don't advertise you are abusing the game's rating, and you won't have any problems.

Did you forget when YoshiP commented about certain mods he had no tolerance for that could affect the game's rating?

That's the thing - if they want to point out exactly what is wrong in our posts, that is fine. We'll fix it.
But there's no explanation what exactly is the bother in the party finder. Nothing. And that can lead to confusion and another infraction. Our venue is for all ages here. So is it something in our link? The party finder itself? An explanation of what's wrong would be nice.

As I recall - most roleplayers I know don't want to break rules. Tell us what's going on - tell us what's wrong with our party finder so we may correct it for next time.

Unfortunately that's the issue that we as venue owners and RPers face time in and time out, and honestly even broader, the common XIV player. Things like language/profanity and hateful/harmful speech are things that most players can get behind the GMs on and are happy that they are vigilant about... but only if its clearly defined. It's obvious why a person got banned if they threw out some hateful speech in a dungeon or raid, or shouted slurs in Limsa. The player can easily point to that and go "yeah, that's why I got banned." But when we have instances like this, where a person is pulled into Gaol and told "You're suspended for three days" and when asked why, the response is "Read the TOS, figure it out" it becomes a question on "What did I say?"

I got a penalty a few months ago just like that. Some sort of profane speech. I didn't get pulled into Gaol, just got an email while I was at work. I contacted the GMs to ask why, and they couldn't tell me anything. I tried asking when I said it, to try and piece together what I said to not say it again. Nothing. I legitimately couldn't understand what I had said to cause offense. I had to ask the GM "If I don't know what I did wrong, what do I do to prevent these things in the future?" The answer I got was "Figure it out."

It's easy to denounce people and say "Oh, they know what they did, they're just trying to get out of punishment." Not really... most people do want to just be good people and enjoy the game.

Sorry to anyone who disagrees but... being hit in the nose with a newspaper and not knowing why tends to not help the community become a better place. Give us details and we will be better people.

"Online Interactions Not Rated by the ESRB" - Game contains user-generated online content and communications that are independent of the rated content of the game itself. This notice was formerly worded as "Game Experience May Change During Online Play".

Nothing they have done 1. Violates the new ToS, nor 2. Impacts their ESRB rating.

I agree with you. The two people I am speaking for who would never break the rules on purpose, and have no malicious bone in their body. The only common consensus was that they were reported for their party finder.. but why? What is so wrong about it, we need to know what we need to NOT to to avoid this. The punishments bestowed on them and melafyre are absolutely uncalled for.

Try again, the ESRB is not beholden to user generated content. What you seem to not understand is the consequences of making things up to appear like you have a snappy gotcha. Don't talk out of pocket and you won't have any problems. This goes for about every entry XIV has logged in the ESRB's official website, and I'm sure you didn't forget about PEGI, and CERO, right?
