That has literally never happened. Keep your weird fantasies out of this please and thanks.18+ can be seen and interpreted by GMs as a form of descrimination. Ageism. No different than saying no lgbtq allowed. Anytime you post any form of gatekeeping or limitations like that if someone is wanting to troll or hit ya where it hurts they can. Thats just how ff14 is. This is the woke world everyone asked for lol.
And yet here we are with the new ToS. Also, if you continue to say things such as my views are weird fantasies I will be forced to report you for harassment. This is my one warning to stop the personal attacks.
You can always test it by putting up an 18+ on OTHER and have a few people report you for it.

Here is what you don't understand. FFXIV's rating supercedes your personal 18+ rating.
Don't advertise you are abusing the game's rating, and you won't have any problems.
Did you forget when YoshiP commented about certain mods he had no tolerance for that could affect the game's rating?

But there's no explanation what exactly is the bother in the party finder. Nothing. And that can lead to confusion and another infraction. Our venue is for all ages here. So is it something in our link? The party finder itself? An explanation of what's wrong would be nice.
As I recall - most roleplayers I know don't want to break rules. Tell us what's going on - tell us what's wrong with our party finder so we may correct it for next time.

Unfortunately that's the issue that we as venue owners and RPers face time in and time out, and honestly even broader, the common XIV player. Things like language/profanity and hateful/harmful speech are things that most players can get behind the GMs on and are happy that they are vigilant about... but only if its clearly defined. It's obvious why a person got banned if they threw out some hateful speech in a dungeon or raid, or shouted slurs in Limsa. The player can easily point to that and go "yeah, that's why I got banned." But when we have instances like this, where a person is pulled into Gaol and told "You're suspended for three days" and when asked why, the response is "Read the TOS, figure it out" it becomes a question on "What did I say?"That's the thing - if they want to point out exactly what is wrong in our posts, that is fine. I got a penalty a few months ago just like that. Some sort of profane speech. I didn't get pulled into Gaol, just got an email while I was at work. I contacted the GMs to ask why, and they couldn't tell me anything. I tried asking when I said it, to try and piece together what I said to not say it again. Nothing. I legitimately couldn't understand what I had said to cause offense. I had to ask the GM "If I don't know what I did wrong, what do I do to prevent these things in the future?" The answer I got was "Figure it out."
It's easy to denounce people and say "Oh, they know what they did, they're just trying to get out of punishment." Not really... most people do want to just be good people and enjoy the game.
Sorry to anyone who disagrees but... being hit in the nose with a newspaper and not knowing why tends to not help the community become a better place. Give us details and we will be better people.

I agree with you. The two people I am speaking for who would never break the rules on purpose, and have no malicious bone in their body. The only common consensus was that they were reported for their party finder.. but why? What is so wrong about it, we need to know what we need to NOT to to avoid this. The punishments bestowed on them and melafyre are absolutely uncalled for.Unfortunately that's the issue that we as venue owners and RPers face time in and time out, and honestly even broader, the common XIV player. "Online Interactions Not Rated by the ESRB" - Game contains user-generated online content and communications that are independent of the rated content of the game itself. This notice was formerly worded as "Game Experience May Change During Online Play".Here is what you don't understand. FFXIV's rating supercedes your personal 18+ rating.

Nothing they have done 1. Violates the new ToS, nor 2. Impacts their ESRB rating.

Try again, the ESRB is not beholden to user generated content. What you seem to not understand is the consequences of making things up to appear like you have a snappy gotcha. Don't talk out of pocket and you won't have any problems. This goes for about every entry XIV has logged in the ESRB's official website, and I'm sure you didn't forget about PEGI, and CERO, right?
I know it is probably to protect the reporters from retaliation but it is a very easily abusable rule that GM's don't have to tell you exactly why you are being punished. This GM in particular seemed very adamant on doling out the punishment without clarifying why in any facet, and considering what the ad was about, was just a misuse of power. We've gotten a number of good changes to the ToS, but letting GM's run amok like this needs to be one of the next ones to change.
