Including a WHM that is curebombing your rapidly declining HP reserves, it's very likely that after the Gladiator is dead, so follows the healer, and the domino effect continues until everyone is down. Like I said, 350 damage multiplied by 4-5 = major trouble.But you can't compare the survivability of a tank in a full party vs solo... its an entirely different ball game
The point being... in a party, pulling multiple MOBs isn't instant death... and if everyone focuses on killing 1 MOB at a time, you can still come out on top. So Roaming parties aren't as wipe-able as they were in FFXI....
and Paladin in an EXP party should make it even easier

Regardless of who is right (And it's obviously me), I do agree that numbering (lettering???) the MOBs is a good idea....

Although I don't know what level BLM gets it at (quests it at...)
The only thing I can't figure out is if you like or dislike the battle changes
