Blame Gordias Savage for this. It was the hardest raid in the game, the one where healer DPS became mandatory. If not for that, people wouldn't be raging about healer DPS, and healers wouldn't have gotten nerfed due to people wanting to make it "easier" to perform well at.

Nuke spam on healers is pretty boring in any content, honestly. I hope they'll do something about it, all I wish is that we had more than one button to press during downtime. AST at least have cards to play with around, even if i don't like the current ones, they're still something extra to do. I picked up WHM for Asphodelos, and while I do enjoy the healing spells and abilities, this kind of glare spam gameplay is very underwhelming. I think it was better before.

Or blame the people who have the power to actually change the way the role works but choose to leave it alone and hand wave all the issues they have. The fact they literally aren’t even mentioned combined with the own forced slide during the pre expansion slide show is pretty telling.Blame Gordias Savage for this. BLM is the busiest and most fun it's ever been in a long time. You can tell it is Yoshi-P's star child by how well polished it is. Comparing CPM is a less than usual statistic considering MCH has the 2nd highest CPM and it is rather simple in comparison.Black Mage and Samurai need more fire power because of how busy they are. Meanwhile;
I don't know where and how Black Mage is any busy. I don't know if this is a mistranslation issue but saying they will buff selfish DPS so reaper and monk don't out DPS them is fairer. Also rip MCH since they are also selfish. I guess mobility is a good and valid reason to have them do no damage.
I get told that my Summoner should do less damage than Red Mage because of mobility tax since they're like a ranged physical.
Where did Summoners ever asked to have more mobility than what they had in ShB? Anyways, I hope they rethink about SMN because it is too restrictive of a rotation to be enjoyable to optimize right now.

No, he was being just as anecdotal and dismissive as you were in your post.
Just because you don't believe there is something wrong with the healing role, doesn't mean there isn't anything wrong with it and lots of people have major issues with it. Not many of us are happy with 1111111111111111111111 gameplay and mp issues. I've also noticed a precipitous drop in healer participation in DF and PF since the expac started.
The biggest issue is that square just can't reconcile that some people won't play some jobs optimally. Instead of accepting that people will do that and complain about jobs being hard, they lower the skill ceiling on them. Sure it might make the more casual players happy, but even then for a job like this it's very rarely going to make someone who hated the job start loving it and want to main it. Meanwhile those who enjoyed it before feel alienated.
Yoshi said that it's MNK that needs buffs for how busy it is. SAM and BLM need buffs because they are selfish DPS.Black Mage and Samurai need more fire power because of how busy they are. Meanwhile;
