    Actually caps like this first started in WoW back in late Burning Crusade when they started seeing people stay logged in AND active for days at a time - playing until they passed out or (as in the case of one couple playing in an internet cafe - which I think was from EQ before WoW came out) the police showed up because their kids had died of starvation back at the house and somebody called in the smell...

    Thus we have limits on dailies, weeklies, and so on, to get people to log out...

    The tomestome cap may limit some casuals like me that aren't logging in a lot, but it ALSO keeps the super hardcores from pushing so hard that everyone else feels pressure to keep up or get left behind.

    And anyone can just buy the crafted gear instead anyway...

    sorry but a weekly cap isnt FOMO cause you dont miss out on the gear if you skip farming for x time
    the gear will be there and once the tomestone rotates out it is still available but for sacks of nuts/clan centurio from hunts instead.

    You should suggest they lower the tomestone prices for helm/gloves boots then, that way you can always get them in a week, and the chest/legs will always take 2.

    Sorry, but all artifical caps are FOMO because you can never catch up them if you miss one. IMHO those caps should be removed and the devs should give the players the choice how much tombstones the want to farm.

    Probably cap gear is aimed to anyone that do raids and is a way for devs to slowly nerf content and make it more accessible. Also, FFXIV is a monthly subscription game and caps keep you subscribe longer. Is either current system or go the korean route and put stuff behind monumental grinds with absurd low chances, but despiste Yoshida saying we can play others game at least they need to try to keep us around for a few months.

    Anyway, I'm a casual player and capped gear is pointless. No content outside savage requires it and is way easier to get it for glamour after said caps are removed.
