    If you are level 80 in a game, you don't get the "casual" card anymore.
    You got full rotations to make, you should already be familiar with a good bunch of common mechanics and telegraphs.

    In fact, if you are level 80 and don't make it thought some skill checks, more than a fault of the player is a fault of the game for having no learning curve or not truly preparing the players for said content in previous levels. There is a reason they are called T R I A L S they SHOULD BE a roadblock.

    Lv50 = Very Easy
    Lv60 = Easy
    Lv70 = Medium
    Lv80 = Hard
    Lv90 = Harder

    Sounds about right. Its all about the patterns. Just keep trying. It gets easier.

    I am a casual player of average skill level. Heck, according to a certain number crunching website, I'm below average, and that's despite playing the easiest DPS job in the game. I don't do Extremes, I don't do Savages and I certainly don't do Ultimates.

    And yet, I can handle Endwalker's MSQ Trials just fine. Doesn't mean I didn't struggle at first, nor does it mean I never make mistakes. Struggling and failing initially doesn't equal to overturned/too difficult. The game should pose some degree of challenge, and that challenge line should be tuned around the average player skill, not the elite top percent nor the bottom of the barrel 'randomly mashing muttons and ignoring mechanics' players.

    I don't think any of us expecting a basic degree of challenge from the game is elitist behavior, but you do you, I guess.

    That "but you're 83, so you should be good enough" logic doesn't make sense. You can wipe your way to victory, and levels have nothing to do with gameplay -- you do the MSQ with minimal combat to max level.

    I just think it’s a bit extreme.
    This! Im not a new player, but someone who dosnt like raids, trials, savage, ultimate and stuff like that. For me it was no fun at all and a big pain in the ass. In no other expansion so far the trials during the MSQ feelt to me like some kind of stupid content blocker. With one of my chars it took 3 groups before the 3rd trial was down and yes the partys where wiping a few times before disbanding. It would be fine if they put it in an optional blue quest like other riad or trials but putting something with savage diffeculty in the MSQ is just mean. I also saw a few players who where honestly thinking of quiting the game because of that and honestly, i cant blame them.

    Not everyone likes raids and forcing people doing stuff like that (in the previous expansion the msq trials felt way easier) is just bad and nothing more.

    They nerfed "in from the cold", I wouldn't be surprised if they toned down the MSQ trials, too. At least the "normal" modes (which are absolutely not on the same level as past trials).

    The last trial was ok. The trial before the last one was a little difficult than the norm. The first trial only introduced a new mechanic(that I've seen at least) with the rotating platform and even that wasn't too hard. I personally think the dungeons were the harder ones than the norm.

    The last boss of the lvl 85 dungeon bugged out for me. The symbol overlay just didn't happen regularly, only the first time the circle popped up. Apart from that, I didn't find the dungeons particularly difficult.
    I got through the trials by following a dude with a triangle on his head, like most of the other members of the group, apart from the 2-3 who lay dead in a corner because even that was too hard for them.

    But that's not "playing the game". That's connect the dots, and that's not fun. At least for me, there seem to be a few enjoyers around here -- but we all know that what you see on the forums and what's going on in the game are completely different things.

    It took them a while to nerf the final trial in Stormblood and the outcry on that one's difficulty was a lot more prevalent than what I'm seeing about EW.

    Honestly, I don't even feel the fights are getting all that much harder. It's just presenting new mechanics you gotta learn, like many fights in the past have.

    For example:
    First time I did Ravana he threw me off the edge at the start of the final phase. I didn't know there was a knockback, and I didn't realize that parts of the wall were now missing.
    Sophia immediately sent me off the platform when she first tilted it, and it took me a few attempts to understand why the platform tilts in the direction it does. Yes, it's not MSQ but it's still a normal difficulty fight.
    First attempt at Susano and we wiped to his giant blade because no one knew to click the indicator.
    Honestly, who hasn't died on their first attempt at Shinryu due to Tidal Wave?
    Can't tank the phoenixes in the Suzaku fight, gotta let the DPS take them to the middle and kill them. Standing in the middle and getting ready to start the final phase and a hole appears and kills several of us. Also, she has a knockback.
    Warrior of Light needs a carefully timed tank LB3. I've been in groups where the tanks didn't even have Limit Break on their hotbars, but they put it there on the next attempt.
    Zodiark shifted to the corner of the platform and shoved off everyone who was in the middle in a diagonal. Didn't expect that.
    What do the colored weapons mean in the Hydaelyn fight? Only way to find out is to see them, and likely get hit by them the first few times.

    I never got mad or upset after wiping. I learned from it and did better the next attempt.
