The MSQ Endwalker Trial Bosses are WAY too hard for newer players to FFXIV

Let me start off by saying the trials are easy for me, because I’m used to harder fights like those, but my friends who are new to the game, couldnt for the life of them understand what to do when doing the Zodiark trial. There’s honestly no need to make MSQ trial bosses that hard.

    I just think it’s a bit extreme.

Did you ever play a game where it doesn't increase in difficulty the more you advance in it?
It's the same here. The game slowly introduced you to new mechanics. You're not meant to zerg and braindead the bosses. You're meant to learn their mechanics. Most ( If not every ) boss in the game starts the encounter with an introduction to their mechanics, which should give you an insight into what they can do and how to avoid it.
As a mentor and a casual player. The problem isn't with the bosses' mechanics but rather it's with a certain portion of the players who don't read the chat, don't know the basic mechanics, and are not willing to cooperate and learn. Those are what makes a trial boss hard, not the boss itself.

That's what RAID content is for, for those who CHOOSE to bash their heads against a brick wall, not for those of us for whom trial 1 in particular was a bloody nightmare!

Indeed, I can't recall name of the tank who did my trial 1 (Zarc? something perhaps, a real star) and who two wipes later was still there helping us poor souls for whom 3-concurrent mechanics is just too damned much!

I fully expect 6.0 will be the last content I do, I'm done with raid-level mechanics in STORY content that gates all further progress in the STORY.

There's nothing wrong with wiping a few times in order to learn mechanics. You don't lose EXP when you die, and you hardly lose any durability. The only thing wiping costs you is time.

I rather see new players struggle a little bit on a new encounter than complete everything in one try. That would be boring. I've had my share of wipes whenever I get a new trial or raid in roulette, but in the end we still manage to clear it in a few attempts. It's not like it's throwing extreme or savage level mechanics at you.

lol No people RIP on the people learning. They did it when I started, and they STILL do it. Had people telling a guy he sucked the other day, he said he was new, they told him to quit. I felt sorry for him. No to most it is NOT ok. If this community wasnt so serious and hardcore all the time, let the newbies learn - maybe.

I just wipe them intentionally until I get the full Echo buff, then work in getting them done.
If there was a skip option, I'd take it, especially in the role play ones.

I don't see how that's any better than just trying your best in the first place and at least learning the first bit of the fight. You might even make it through.

Usually the sticking point is a gimmick rather than HP, anyway.

There was certainly some progression in it for my party, but over time veteran players will get it in a roulette and help them through it. Eventually they will add The Echo to it like they did with Titania (which a lot of parties abandoned because of failing the tank roles and the DPS checks).

As if veteran players with brain will queue trial roulette if they know they can get zordiak with full newbies party...... (you can't dodge it with ilvl)

assuming the new player is not boosting,
    it shouldn't be that hard...

most of the attack is telegraphed, already shown in previous dungeon / boss trial/raids,
and have pretty long delay between telegraph and the damage, so it should be okay, just need a little reaction time

the boss on first trial even give you 'lecture' about the certain mech on the first time he cast it,
zooming out the camera so we have better chance to see and understand the gimmicks

even if the player fail the first mech, they could learn from it and adapt for the next
don't be discouraged just because wiping once or two, wiping is just another additional step to clearing.. :3

or if its still too hard, just use follow the majority rules, and hope the majority know the fight already.. its (mostly) works
(hint.. hint.. the one that know the fight usually jumping to grab your attention to the safe spot, just hope they aren't troll jump XD )
