I'm all for returning the positionals to Monk's weaponskills but frankly this would be insanely frustrating for reasons that we've already seen in the game.

Many moons ago we saw how tying positionals to something this important pans out, clear back in 2.0 when Heavy Thrust's buff and Chaos Thrust's DoT on Dragoon were tied to the positional requirement instead of it just being potency. That got removed because it was infuriating rather than fun and this would be like that but a thousand times more infuriating. Positionals work as a supplementary mechanic, they improve on an otherwise well designed job by giving you slightly more space to improve your play and they make the job a little more active when you're outside of your burst.

I get that people are unhappy about the lost positionals, I am too, but this is overcorrecting.

This 100%. Positionals are not a magic solution that makes the glaring issues that Monk kit currently has dissapear.

    Update: december 30th
    - minimized penalty for missing a positional
    - The Combo Counter will simply track the number of positionals
    - added Stances

I think it's a fine change though I might be leaning more towards removing postionals. I'm starting to feel that removing postionals could give more freedom to encounter design. I get that positioning is a fun mechanic but I like freedom of movement a bit more. I would rather see Blitz changed. If we're committed to Blitz being the new monk thing then it needs to be simplified. Right now it's way too restrictive and too punishing for players. It should not be a DPS gain to intentionally use the same nadi just so we can correct the timing on our brotherhood window. Having to juggle between lunar and solar nadi is too much to keep track of during a fight. A glowing purple and yellow light don't convey which combo I need to perform easily enough. Because on top of that I now have to remember that purple means three of a kind, and yellow means one of each.

Blitz should be a linear progression. Instead of a lunar combo and a solar combo we should have a single target blitz, and an aoe blitz. I think all Blitz should function like Celestial Revolution and grant you whatever nadi you are missing. Let me decide how I want to spend my Perfect Balance combo. Maybe if I use only aoe skills that triggers the aoe blitz. If I do only single target moves I get the single target blitz. Or maybe it works like chakra does and we get an extra button. we get a nadi no matter what we do, and instead we have one button for the single target blitz, then a second button for the aoe blitz. Phantom Rush stays the same that does the highest single target and aoe damage but only after using two nadi.
