Instead of removing positionals, they could've incorperated positionals into the new Masterful Blitz.
So let's say we keep the Masterful Blitz as is but this time around, positionals unlock the stickers on the Beast Gauge.
Similar to like a fighting game or hack'n'slash, there would also be a combo counter next to the Beast Gauge for each positional hit.
Gameplay Loop
3x positionals landed = 1 sticker.
In total that would be 9x positionals to unlock Lunar Nadi, which gives Flint Strike.
Since Lunar Nadi is unlocked, the required positionals have now decreased for the Solar Nadi.
2x positionals per sticker. 6x Positionals in total for Rising Phoenix.
With both the Lunar Nadi and Solar Nadi, we only need 1x positional per sticker.
That would mean 3x positionals for Phantom Rush.
The Beast Gauge then resets and we repeat.
Perfect Balance
Perfect Balance can stay as 2 charges, ignore positionals requirement 3 times and grant us 1x sticker per hit.
Anatman
Allows the use of Lunar and Solar Nadi weaponskills for 1 combo.
Flint Strike > Rising Phoenix > Phantom Rush
Leaden Fist
New animation to differentiate itself from a normal Bootshine.
Stances (New - december 30th)
Phantom Rush cycles through 3 stances: Fists of Wind, Earth and Fire.
A simple way would be to give them their old effects from ShB, with Earth being changed to ignoring positional requirement instead of damage reduction much like the old Riddle of Earth.
Instead though I had in mind that maybe each different stance gave a new set of weaponskills. Perhaps the Fists of Fire is a dot-based combo. Fists of Earth being strong but slow-hitting weaponskills on 2.5 gcd. Fists of Wind could be the normal combo we're familliar with and increased auto-attack speed.
Totally not a Summoner rework.
oGCD's
Elixir Field and Tornado Kick just because buttons are fun to press. Maybe even add Celestial Revolution.
The Combo Counter (Updated - december 30th)
Simply visuals as a homage to fighting games / hack'n'slash. A way to see how many positionals one can hit in one fight perhaps. Option to be turned off with Simple Job Gauge.
Missing a positional (Updated - december 30th)
Loss of a positional simply makes the Combo Counter vanish until hitting a positional again.
If you've hit 2 out of 3 positionals for a sticker then you only need to try and hit another positional.
Thoughts
I've only played MNK since ShB so I'm not exactly an expert but what drew me to the job to begin with was the positionals and Greased Lightning. With Endwalker's changes, MNK doesn't really feel as fast-paced anymore.
Feedback is much appreciated. Obviously the chances of Square Enix even seeing this is extremely low but it could be something to tinker with as a tiny pastime nonetheless. Will update depending on feedback replies.
