Yep. If it's just a fan project, especially one for fun and sharing with a few friends (if you're even planning to share it at all), SE isn't going to care. They're not going to beat down your door and shove a cease and desist letter in your face. They're really only going to care if you start publicizing it, if you clearly just ripped their content like art assets/music, or if you start trying to make money off of it.
