at the moment im just doing my own thing, I just think it would be kind of funny

I would imagine you'd largely be okay as long as you didn't use any explicitly taken content (music, artwork, etc.) and as long as you didn't promote it as if it were something official. Oh, and the obvious one, don't try to make any money off of it.

If it's just a personal project for fun and maybe sharing amongst friends, I doubt you'd have any issues.

You'll only run into issues if you either try to make money from it and/or share it publically. It's very unlikely anyone will find out or care if it's only for personal use or a few friends.

well okay then I guess I won't do it, I was just going to upload it for fun using what i have without taking their music and stuff lol with my own party made lol just exploring the world and fight orders lol

From a legal perspective yes, Square would mind very much.

From a creative standpoint make whatever you want, but if you're going to publish it better do so anonymously to avoid cease and desists. I'm sure depending on the quality the community would either like or dislike it and wouldn't care too much about the copyright aspect.

Eh your post is way to vague to give an exact answer.

If you simply borrow the setting and story to create something to share. I doubt you'll get into trouble. After all what do you think the fan fic community is about?

But if you rip off actual assest from the game, or try to monetize it, or use the IP for unscrupulous endevaour (like pr0n) that they will definitely come after you.
