I know the Devs don't want to add any more Playable Races, but I REALLY dig Loporitts

I'd give ANYTHING to play as a Loporrit! If I could donate all the money they needed to make it happen, I would in a heartbeat.

I know the majority of people only seem to care about having sexy/cool/hardcore races and gear, but there ARE people who like small cute things, and I feel like they rarely throw those people a bone. No, Lalafell don't count, they're dwarves and you shouldn't lump them together just because they're small as well. Small, cute, FURRY races are a hallmark of JRPGs, but they've become rarer and rarer over the years despite their popularity in games.

Your clan in Tactics Advanced 1/2 wasn't complete with a Moogle,
Your party in FF6 wasn't complete without Mog,
Cait Sith and Red XIII (he smol and cute too) made the FF7 party so diverse and fun without sacrificing any of the impact of the story.

If every character was a sexy, tall, well-built anime character, I'd say the game would be downright boring to look at. Diversity is the spice of life and the time is right and the conditions are perfect for Loporrits as a playable race. Generally, most people like them, think they're adorable, and enjoying their naming convention in memes.

For the lore, I feel like this could easily be explained. Venat could have got the idea for them from concept that lived on, and is now a tribe that we haven't met yet, perhaps in the New World. Or they could be a race that is only fantasiable after completing Endwalker.

Alternatively, why is lore SO necessary at this point? Your character's race is barely acknowledged, and is only relevant in your own cut-scenes besides. If I can put on a Moogle outfit and roleplay as one the entire game with next to no storytelling inconsistencies, then why can't we be Loporrits? To those that play as a Loporrit, they can roleplay that they were sent by Hydaelyn if they want, and those that don't play as one, it doesn't matter because you are always the hero of your OWN story, and everyone else is just an adventurer to you. I'm sure that the people who want to play as Loporrit won't mind some minor inconsistencies when playing older content. The race the player chooses is really so inconsequential to the storytelling, that it's my opinion that they should be treated as glamour. Remember when Yugiri was treated as some rare exotic race and she was scared to take off her mask? Now there are Au Ra literally everywhere!

I'm not saying that SE shouldn't fix the current race issues before adding them, but please don't brush them off the table altogether. Haters can hate, but I'll never give up on playable Loporrits, for hope will shine again!

That's less "the bare minimum" and more "the absolute bleeding edge of what graphics technology is currently capable of on extremely high-end machines." Getting loose dangly polygons not to clip through shit is very, very, very, very demanding, and moreso by orders of magnitude when you're dealing with models that can wear a massive variety of outfits and equipment and not a single bespoke immutable model.

Right. Currently you aren't likely to find a game that doesn't experience some degree of clipping with loose articles of clothing or character features like tails. Attempting any meaningful correction to it in FFXIV would require nothing short of a complete game engine rebuild from scratch. At which point they may as well just make a new MMO.

Viera are just humans with rabbit ears. There's barely a difference between a Viera and a Hyur wearing the Gold Saucer bunny ears... Viera don't even have tails like Miqote for crying out loud!

Not a very apt comparison, yet one that people like to use as argument against them quite frequently it seems.

I'd rather they update and finish the races we already have first. Viera and Hrothgar are still nowhere close to being on par with the other races for customizability, and it took the length of an entire expansion for that to even start to change.

The Au'ra horns are a pain and elfs just look ugly as hell lol
