The swirls are only when you actually have beast gauge accumulated. So in combat, yeah. Near constant swirly aura. Running around town and such, no swirls at all.

Hello, just a comment that this isn't correct. The Beast Gauge and the visual effect stay on forever out of combat. There's no action or setting that gets rid of it. I tried other things today and found that teleporting does temporarily fix it. I guess I teleport enough that it might be tolerable, given how much I like the class otherwise. I still hope that this issue can be fixed. Thank you for your replies.
That's why I said "when you actually have beast gauge accumulated." If your gauge is at 0, either because you've used it all or haven't yet attacked anything, the swirls vanish. In cities and housing areas and such where there's no combat the visual will always be off (unless you attack a training dummy, or something.)Hello, just a comment that this isn't correct.
