Leveling doesn't matter. The people who can't be bothered to learn their jobs at high levels are the same people who wouldn't be bothered to learn their jobs while leveling. Additionally, you can't learn to play a job properly with an incomplete action set anyway. The leveling process starting at 1 and adding an action every few levels encourages building bad habits, bad bar layouts, and bad control schemes early on and then fixing them later, instead of working out a bar layout and control scheme that promote good habits from the beginning.

This is one of the exact attitudes that has resulted in World of Warcraft in it's current state.

Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]

I am curious why you chose to only quote that part of the post. There is barely any endgame at lvl 90 currently and instead a lot of casual grinding. Expert roulette dungeons are despite their name a lot easier than leveling dungeons. Levelcap has always also featured treasure maps and that's pretty casual content too. And oh boy if you want to play the new job for the new expansion MSQ, starting from scratch would be extremely annoying. It takes quite a while to casually level up a job from 1.
