"In from the Cold" Scenario, any way to skip it?

The entire point was to put you in the shoes of a lowly solider that was little more than cannon fodder for the WoL.

If you felt angry or powerless or despondent then it achieved it's goal.

except it didn't make me feel those things toward the character of Fandaniel like it was supposed to. I thought it was an awful quest that was meant to show how much of a madman Fandaniel had become.
I despised it and I hope they do not consider making more like it. no I did not find it difficult, I found it infuriating and annoying that the devs would even consider it. oh and

the fact he tries to use your body to attack your friends at the end of it made me even more angry at the devs.
