Yoshi P has literally stated he benefits from Third parties who calculate rotations and numbers, he may not parse, but hes not blind to the people who make the game better who do xD

We'll see how that goes I haven't seen the actual Party Finders so can't really comment directly. I'll defer judgment to the GM's making that determination. If I see one I'll be sure to report it so that can clarified. Let us know how you do on the nude mod front.

ACT reads the network packets sent, thus still not changing game files. VPNs that people use to increase ping actually do more to the packets than ACT does. SO if ACT is illegal, then so are VPNs

I have zero issues with parsers if used responsibly. This Dalamud thing however, oh boy, that’s a slippery slope. I didn’t even know that existed until this thread and it makes me very uncomfortable.

If there's one thing WoW did right, it was allowing addons. I deeply dislike the stigma against even really innocuous stuff (like parsers) in the community.

You have to realize that there's likely a large percentage of the population who is parsing, and an even larger percentage among those who don't say anything. I will literally never care if someone parses, unless they decide to use it to be toxic, and at that point I have a problem with the person, not the parser. That's not even talking about people who just use parsers with their static, or to monitor their own damage, etc.

    In other words, who cares

There are upsides in the approach SE has chosen. For everyone who knows how to use the info a parser provides productively there are also people who are just idiots and use it to stir up shit in groups where it's not warranted. Those people are usually not smart enough to point out issues without outside help so shutting them down completely is a benefit. I dont think exact damage numbers are something to be brought up in dungeons for example. In extreme and up of course it's a different story and I'm not happy with the current approach of kick silently and then blacklist.

The same can be said for asking that people dodge, pull faster, etc., without a parser having even been invented. A tool is no more to blame for people insisting on its use outside of where it's relevant than is any technique or behavior (e.g., perfect play or speedrunning).

Just a quick question to the person who made this thread (or others who might think like him)...

Why do you even care? Like...

There are no doubts downsides to the approach. Usually if there is something going wrong in a party you notice what it is before looking at damage numbers. I dont need a parser to see my tank not using mitigation, the healer spamming cure 1 or a dps single targetting against a group of 9 mobs. What the 'dont ask, dont tell' approach does is to shut out people who themselves have no idea but try to tell others what they should be doing and we can all do without people like that.

As long you dont bother anyone with it, parse to your hearts content.

I am a selfish person, so I do my utmost best to sit on the top no matter what class I play, I do not care who is bellow me, I care for the ones who are above me, those are the target to beat.
