VW has enough money to build there own chip factory, but they didnt because everyone prefers the cheap stuff from asia for better profits. If there would be more companis willing to produce these chips we wouldnt have this issue.

It also takes time to build a factory. Quite a few new ship factories are being built... yet it will take until around 2023 for them to be up and running.

VW may have money but it doesn't means they have the technology.
Currently, only TWSC and Samsung as capability making most advanced chips.
China has a lot of money to burn and you don't see they are able to making chips on their own

Even if a company wanted to build their own chip factory, and didnt care about the costs, it would take 3-5 years to complete. The machines that make chips are they themselves extremely complex.

Square is a 2 billion dollar company. They have every capability to make their game accessible for folks to play. This isn't an indie dev studio. Very upsetting.

It's fine to unsub and feel frustrated. Honestly, if you can't find the time to log in then you should unsub until the congestion lessens. However, people need to temper their expectations with reality; the global chip shortage makes getting servers difficult, especially at the scale that FFXIV needs, a single world needs tens of servers.
