I mean yes if it isnt worthwhile to you (money), playable at all (enjoyment) or you cant deal with the queue just as everyone else does (time), leaving works out for you. Did you need to tell the word of your actions, nope but we re all humans who want attention afterall

What's frustrating is that this situation was most likely caused by a failure to plan. Most of the congestion is probably being caused returning players that bought the expansion and are trying to play the new content, right? Returning players already have accounts. AKA records of how large your player base could potentially be. I don't deny that there is a chip shortage right now and it is a very reasonable thing to suggest that the login queue issue could be around for a long time due to that fact. If you knew your game had the potential to be this popular because you have a count of all inactive subscriptions, you probably should've planned to upgrade your hardware and released the game when you were fully prepared to do so. Especially because it's a pay to play game and it is common knowledge at this point that hardware is difficult to acquire. Sure people would have been bummed that the release date got pushed back if they had chosen to do that. But as we've seen, there were many titles pushed back due to the pandemic and supply chain issues so it's not like anyone would've been surprised. What sounds better? Login queues that take hours with no end to them in sight or a delayed expansion pack? I returned to the game a few weeks before EndWalker came out and I was enjoying my time with it. Unfortunately, I'm considering unsubbing because of how much effort it takes to play it with my friends. It's a pity really. I hope it doesn't continue for too long and potentially damage the game's outlook in the long-term. I really do want to play!

    I don't believe you.
Actually, this is exactly what is happening in Europe at this very moment. You can complain if you want, but there is nothing that can be done.

I work for a company where we are supposed to be getting new phones and laptops every 2 years and our IT just told us, "we cannot buy even if we have the budget and the new people are in priority, so unless it's completly non-functional, you use what you have".

I also wanted to buy presents for my family for Christmas, that I usually can in my country (my bro is a drone maniac) and I needed to order items far outside my country, waaay in advance, because of this.

    Better examples?

Don't assume the people who've been playing are 'jobless' and have no family responsibilities just because they have different hours than you. Also some servers/data centers have smaller queues than others so they end up not having to wait quite as long to get in since they happen to not be on the most crowded servers.

No but I do think it is, at least the majority. I wish I had the luxury of having a full day off or consecutive days off or even returning home from work. The fact that I can still have a experience with my few days on and people give up after one 2002 error and badmouthing the game is petty. And I’m no white knight nor privileged to have clean experiences but I’m keenly aware of the state of the world and the games massive base

I'll give him one two more examples. There used to be a Volkswagen assembly plant just 30 mins from where I live, that plant is now closed because they can't build new cars due to the semiconductor shortage, hundreds of jobs lost in a blink of an eye to a problem that they have no power to solve. Now a problem that directly affects me, I work at a general hospital, and now we have to rely on refurbished machines because it has become impossible to get a hold of critical medical devices, even the Phillips rep (that's the brand that makes most of the machines and devices we need) is clueless about when the situation will get any better. Basically, if one of our CT scan machines malfunctions or a PCR machine goes kaput, it could take up to 2 months to get a new one.

This is all true, and anyone with a tiny bit of desire to be properly informed can verify story like this easily if they don't to take the word of a forum poster for granted. It's cringy whether someone bring the whole Square is a billion company, it just shows how narrow the view is.

    - SE looks like a big company to a salary man, but they're merely a fly next to industrial giant.
    - Between keeping core industries that account for thousand of jobs, medical facilities getting the supplies they need or to reduce queue time for some angry gamer ... pretty obvious where the priority should be. At least the industry as a whole is keeping that straight.
