Let's rewind. We had Titania and Innocence extremes and they were 'easy' to heal, then Titan Savage came out and laughed at the healers.
what are you talking about? all of edens gate was a joke to heal except for the very last part of titan savage.
all of edens verse was a joke to heal
edens promise was the only part where they finally stepped up, and only at the very end of e11s and in e12s

btw rememver when titna savage was cleared without healers on the very same patch it came out, and solo healed week1? fun times.

Titan phase 1 in the early weeks of prog was a chore. When you finally made enrage, that was pretty rough until you got better gear and just skipped the darn thing. Basically as long as your barrier healer was decent, it's no sweat for a good raid healer.

The only other interesting fight was Levi because you were 'solo' on your platforms and just had to hit your cooldowns to heal your light party. Sad the enrage is lame if you even got there.

What value is there in keeping that tiny fraction of the playerbase happy for a little longer?[/QUOTE]

Because that is the percentage of the game that will stick around at the end times to clear difficult content. Ah La WoW. Only the hardcore players are left, there are no casuals. Only people clearing content. And also, there isn't one percent of players clearing content in this game. In fact, 10% of the playerbase has cleared TEA. That is nothing to scoff at. That's 10% of players challenging themselves on something other than an EX trial then AFKing in Limsa. Not counting the 13% of players that have cleared UwU or the 9% that have cleared UCoB. I wonder the percentage of people clearing savage and farming BiS? 20%? 25%?

Pretty much that number on the JP data centers.

What some don't understand on this side of the globe, is that savage raiding is rather normal in the Japanese data centers, they even use RF regularly for their weeklies.

Yeah, I don't do a lot of hardcore (honestly, is it even hardcore? given that it is a few fights here and there, i mostly feel it's more of a matter of organization than a grind) but the carrot-on-the-stick, something that you actually have to spend a chunk of time trying to achieve, is necessary in RPGs/MMOs. Otherwise... what exactly are you left it? You basically log in between patches and run a few roulettes here and there, or spam bee knee's at RP events. I don't really say this in a condescending tone, there's nothing wrong with doing that (I do that myself) but acting like anything that offers something more is useless seems a bit over-the-top tbh.

Has it ever occurred to you that after playing this game for years and years, you're just getting better at it? I don't understand players who expect a challenge out of a video game that they've played for years. If you're hunting for challenges, then a video game is the wrong place to find them. The target audience for any successful game will always be new players, not decade long vets. If you've burned out on the game to the point where you find it braindead, then I suggest you find a challenging hobby to stimulate your brain. Learn a musical instrument. Pour more effort into your job. Go to college. There are plenty of challenges to be had out there if playing an MMO is no longer to your liking.
