How Are People Going To Have Statics

Queues will go down in time.
They are starting to improve a little as people get through the story and don't want to deal with level a 2nd job right now while queues are bad.

Gilgamesh queue is about 5 hours right now. Probably the worst it has been since EA.

Actually, having a static is really easy. Just stay logged in. Get yourself a good keyboard with hotkeys.

This is not a good way to view it. What about DCs? Also the more people that avoid AFK log outs the more likely it will be SE will start resetting the servers daily.

I don't think they delay it. Japan data center is fine isn't it? If they delay content because of EU/NA data center problems, I imagine the Japanese player base would complain. Lose/Lose situation for SE.

If the queues are still this bad (4-5h during weekdays at peak hours) that will result in my static not being able to raid. Most are only able to login during peak hours on weekdays, due to work, and many have other commitments during the weekend.
But even looking away from Savage, either the queues will be way better, as in people being able to login during peak hours, or paying customers will find something else to pay for, in which case the queues will become shorter for those who remain.

Historically, hasn't been a problem by the time they release, and they're not a big enough draw to cause another surge.

Current situation may exceed historical expectations, but at this point every choice they make is kinda uncharted waters. Either let it ride expecting things to go as usual, or delay everything and somehow hope that solves congestion.

No doubt that this will get better eventually, but they are running low on time at this moment. I sincerely don't know what they'll do because as someone else stated, any delays for NA/EU will have the playerbase on the Japanese servers angry, but no delays or real tangible fixes will only make the situation here worse. I don't think this is going to wind down until mid-January, with most semesters in high school/college ending this week/next week...

Considering a large portion of people came from WoW and have not experienced a current content raid. I think it may be worst then you are thinking as there is a bigger draw in this expansion than previous ones.

Yea, the game is still growing. The problem will continue to get worse until SE can upgrade their capacity.

Not easily. It sucks but you know, the game and its release schedule shouldn't be catered solely around players in statics any more than the hunt should be designed around hunt trains or the housing market around house barons. Sucks you're going to have a hard time right now, but this isn't your game and your game alone.

If they delay savage though the game dies as there is no end game content.
They would also have to delay normal as every one would be over geared and savage would be a joke.

Normal mode gear is the same ilvl as crafted gear, which Savage is tuned towards. They'd have to delay the tome gear or increase the outgoing damage to compensate but normal mode wouldn't impact Savage from a difficulty perspective in the slightest. It would, however, destroy much of the crafting endgame. No real reason to buy gear when you can farm normal for weeks.

If they do ultimately delay Savage, they could freeze the normal mode lockout at week two. That way no one could get additional gear they wouldn't otherwise have in ideal circumstances.

While I doubt they delay Savage either. It should be noted NA alone now has nearly double JP's population. With EU, the two regions make up more than two thirds of XIV's entire playerbase. From a pure financial perspective, SE has significantly more to lose not taking into consideration how badly NA and EU are impacted by queue times right now.
